I had bidder that bought an item on 2/13. They never responded to any WBN emails. I finally sent another asking why they hadn't responded. They replied stating that they had received an email from seller stating that they item was backordered with a distributor and there would be a delay and they could opt if they wanted to (being the seller I knew this wasn't true). The first thought in my head was "buyers remorse". I was pissed and ready to give them a serious negging but instead I calmly replied that I had never sent such an email and that in fact the item was sitting on my desk ready to ship as soon they make payment. I also asked if they could forward the email to me (assuming it might have been someone else interfering in my auction). The bidder replied that they had confused me with another seller and if I'd be kind enough to provide my Paypal ID, they'd send payment (which they promptly did). Do you think there was buyers remorse and they tried to wiggle out of the transaction and when I called their bluff they backed down? Or do you think there was a genuine mix up with another seller? Given that they apologized and paid promptly, I tend to believe it was mix-up. Then again, I've been known to be hopelessly optimistic about human nature.

I think they "flaked out" Check and see how many items they have bid on lately. I bet a bunch. If they have, I can see why they would have gotton confused.

You're right! He has bid on a large number items in the past couple of weeks, including an auction for the same item he won from me (at a higher price no less). Maybe that's the seller he confused me with.
