Thanks Lucy..I was afraid of that. Ooo..I know..a ring dish! Nope, no marks of any kind.
I recently got a new consignment customer and she has *boxes* of stuff for me to list, so I am getting a real education on a lot of things I would probably never have looked twice at.
Thank goodness for these boards and all the helpful people!
Ashtrays can be quite collectible. If it is indeed an ashtray, which I think it is, listing it as a ring dish will eliminate it from searches by ashtray collectors.
Whatever it is, it's an attractive piece and correctly listed it will likely sell.

Looks like an ashtray to me, too. Ohmslucy is right. Being an ashtray could be a good thing. There are a lot of tobacciana collectors out there. I have a Rep. Steel ashtray up right now, in fact. It does look Native American and was probably made for the tourist trade. From the look of the shape, I'd say 1940's / 1950's?
