They're pantyhose. That's a girl scout uniform you have.

Sparkz has been hitting the Two-Buck again. Pay no attention to him!
Here's an open auction:

Edited because I messed up the link.
Third times a charm? Guess I better just go get my little self some Two-Buck.
There are some closed ones also. I did an eBay search for "boy leggings"

Hey Lucy,
The word around here is that we may be getting a Trader Joe's in town before long. It'll bring a little class to the county (not to mention a lot of 2 buck Chuck)

That's great, Sparkz! You'll love the whole store, not just the Two-Buck.

They're also called "gaiters". Spats or gaiters cover the ankle or lower leg to mid-calf or so, leggings cover the leg at least to the knee.

Tom - my Dad (who passed away last year at 97) was a Desert Rat in the British Army during WWII. He fought with Ghurkas, and they would lie in wait in the bushes and grab ankles. If you were wearing "gaiters" (that's what the Brits call 'em), the Ghurka would say "Okay Tommy - you go." If not, he would assume you were German and slit your throat. Dad always wore his gaiters!

It's a "kris." Dad loved those guys, he always said they were awesome fighters. Fortunately, they liked the Brits a lot. There is a special military academy in England for the Ghurkas. I don't know if they have them in Iraq, but they would be the perfect fighters for that arena.

I guess I'll call them both spats or leggings. Looks like the same thing. This is one of the fun things on this board. Look at all the conversation and memories we got on just one little question. Doesn't look like they sell well. Picked them up at a tag sale for a buck. Starting price??
Thanks!
