Pixiamom if you are awake - your count ranged from 95-222 in 3 minute period.

Fluff - your count went as low as 23 items!!

Interestingly, there are a limited number of "wrong counts" in my case.

I don't know eBay's architecture, but I assume that they have a number of different servers (or server farms) that are responsible for load balancing the searches. Each search probably goes, randomly, to a different server (I think only if you search again, rather than refresh). It appears to me that the indexing was hosed on one or more of the servers, resulting in variable results.

neglus,
I also noticed that they do not post the store name any longer. I would use that feature to buy sometimes.
Obviously another change at Ebay that was sprung on us.
when will they stop!

The store name appears if you have indicated you want to see it in the Customize page options.

Only items ending today aren't showing up in some searches. No big deal. Who gets bids on the last day of the listing anyway?

I'm glad I no longer end items on Sundays... it's so crowded then, nobody goes there anymore

But more importantly, I think you're mistaken. I have no auctions ending tonight, and my counts vary.

Well it's obviously a new "feature" that eBay management have up their sleeve. Perhaps eBay want to confuse search engines as to the actual number of listings at any given moment? Can't be a bug as we know eBay thoroughly test all enhancements for months in a sandbox before release...

I'm not seeing what you guys are seeing. My counts are consistent.

However, I use the "text-only" version of the seller list and that may very well be resident on a different server.

I use "text-only" because I like to see who the bidders are and quash potential problems before they get out of hand.

I did a seller search for your selling id fluff - it isn't a customized view just a plain vanilla search. Your list came up with probably the right number of items, i refreshed, and got the right number again, the next time I refreshed (I just did this now) I got 2 items!! Refreshed again, back to right number again, refreshed again, back to 2! Try it.

I believe you. It's just that in the normal course of events I don't see it. I hate the format of the default seller search listing.

Well, I don't do Ebay anymore...mostly AMZ and Half.com...and even that I don't do because I got a full time job & a halftime job...so I don't have time to play with the auctions...plus I'm very careful about what I buy to resell....very specific about items that I'm 99% will resell.
