Below is the email I received from what appears to be from Ebay, I can not sign into my ID Selling name to check if this email came into "My Ebay Page"......Do you think I should follow the instructions or is there something else I should do.

Thanks toni

Dear xxxxxx (xxxxxxxxxxxxxx),

It appears the password for your eBay account may have recently become compromised. As a result of this, we have reset your password and secret question.

To regain control of your account, please complete the following:

1. Change the password on your personal EMAIL account to verify that it is secure and cannot be accessed by anyone other than you.
2. Change the password on your eBay account. To do so, click the "Forgot your password" link on the eBay sign-in page and change your password using the instructions provided.
3. Follow the steps below to secure your account:
> Click on the "Security & Resolution Center" link found at the bottom of most eBay pages.
> Click on the "eBay Account Protection" link in the "Online Security Resources" box. This will take you to the help page titled "Securing Your Account and Reporting Account Theft."
> Follow the instructions provided under "Securing Your Account".

As you take these steps, please be aware that you may need to repeat the instructions provided above or use the "Back" button on your Web browser to return to the "Securing Your Account" page.

We have provided some additional information below to explain how this may have occurred.

I received the same email when my account was compromised. Better follow the instructions. Don't click on any links (I don't think my email had links). So sorry to hear of your problems. EBay ended some bogus auctions for SUV, etc. that were listed under my name.

Thank You stonecold613 I was happy also, I might have caused this problem by trying to many times to sign in......Maybe ebay has some kinda program that detects when someone is trying over and over to sign into an Ebay ID.

What Happen was I wasnt paying attention and my caps were locked so that caused me to not be able to sign in.

Shame on you for fixing this!! You probably just completely wrecked a well thought out business plan of some poor Romanian laptop seller. Now he's going to have to start all over again. And if he runs into another hard nose like you, he may have to (gasp!) resort to looking for an honest way to make a living

They do. This has been confirmed for me by eBay reps several times when dealing with login issues.

The threshhold for failed login attempts is pretty low, though they wouldn't tell me exactly how many it takes. Less than a dozen, for sure.

I tried about 4 times to sign in then I figured might as well stop trying it was just not going to work.
