I keep getting Error 240.

Here's the title:

Minolta Maxxum AF 70-210 F4 ZOOM LENS, complete

And here's the description:

This Minolta Zoom Lens is in fine condition; we've examined it, and there are no flaws; the lens itself is unscratched, unharmed in any way. Beautiful piece of equipment. Previously owned by a professional photographer who is now retired. Ready for your photography adventures.<p>

This Minolta Maxxum AF 70-210 F4 zoom lens is complete with hood and cover for each end, plus a soft carrier (pictured at bottom right). Guaranteed to work well.<p>

Carefully-packed priority shipping weight is 3.5 pounds; insurance will be required. NO further charges tacked on--ever. E-mail your questions for a speedy reply and bid with confidence. This is a very nice item!<P>

Error 240.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Mix a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water and drink it.

Clear your cache and cookies, try again in the morning.

Everything should work out all right.

"This Minolta Maxxum AF 70-210 F4 zoom lens is complete with hood and cover for each end, plus a soft carrier (pictured at bottom right). Guaranteed (YEAH? Ah...GUARANTEED by WHOM? Under WHAT circumstances? In WHICH states? WHAT is the TERM of SAID "GUARRANTY?" Does it also cover COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS??? Get the idea?) to work well."

Roady:

For future reference, I would avoid words such as:

"guaranteed" and "warranty" and similar words which incur legal liabilities on yerself!

GUARANTY & WARRANTY are LEGAL terms subject to various confusing state regulations...

I'd avoid at all costs! All I ever say with my listings is that the items are covered by a MANUFACTURER'S WARRANT & for more info, CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER...

Tom, thanks for the tip about "guaranteed." I'll change that wording when I revise.

Parklane: I'll take your advice (not the baking soda, though ), although my cache and cookies were humming along just fine for the other auctions that launched within minutes of this one.

Moderator "Radu" in India (I assume), says it's probably the "western union" reference in my payment policies that's holding the launching up. However, that was there for all the others!

KLIS003 - Error 240 When Submitting Listings
SYMPTOMS:
User receives a "(240) Item cannot be listed or modified, either because the title and/or description contains improper words, or some other reasons stated in the Message node of the response, if any." error when attempting to submit listings.

CAUSE:
A 240 error occurs when there is something in your listing that is not allowed on eBay. There are many possible causes of this error.

SOLUTION:
Some of the more common solutions to the 240 error include:

Remove the word "BidPay" from your listing or payment information. BidPay is no longer a valid option on eBay.

When listing to paintball categories, you cannot have worldwide selected for shipping. You'll want to edit your shipping and Ship to/From (Destination) presets and make sure Worldwide is unchecked before you submit.

Sellers can't list to "Adult" categories using PayPal, uncheck PayPal and the item will list.

Some categories do not allow the use of "Western Union" in the description.

You may receive this error because you are listing to a category that requires you to be "Squaretrade registered" and it's looking for the Squartrade registration number in your description. To sign up with SquareTrade, please go to the following URL:

http://www.squaretrade.com/sap/jsp/travel_check.jsp

Once you're signed up with SquareTrade, you can then add the HTML for the SquareTrade Seal which includes your registration number. This will fix the error you're receiving.

If you are listing in the category "Healthcare", the issue could be you are missing text which needs to be in the listing.

The following message is required on all Healthcare listings (feel free to copy and paste the following into your description):

"The sale of this item may be subject to regulation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and state and local regulatory agencies. If so, do not bid on this item unless you are an authorized purchaser. If the item is subject to FDA regulation, I will verify your status as an authorized purchaser of this item before shipping of the item."

By listing in this category, you certify that you will comply with all such laws. In addition, you must include:

1) your complete business name

2) city and state of the business and

3) type of business (i.e., hospital, medical office, manufacturer, distributor, broker, etc.)

If you have questions about legal obligations regarding sales of medical devices, you should consult with the FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health:

UPDATE: Hwahwa, thanks so much for the big tip on BidPay and Western Union. That did the trick; the two auctions launched a few minutes ago. I had forgotten I put that stuff in two different places; removed one, forgot the other one until last night.
