Ever since ebay put that gaudy ghetto header at the top of the pages, search is messed up. After I get done doing a search, I go back to the plain search page. It used to show blank with nothing checked, now it fills in last search terms and has checked the last checks I marked (completed, stores, etc.).

According to my traffic reports, daily hits are down 1,000 per day since the first of the month compared to last year same time frame.

The search has been screwed up for the better part of a year. Don't get your hopes up to have a fix anytime soon. Or anytime at all.

It has been a weird week. Auction sales were half of my store sales last week- usually they run about even. Bids on newly listed auction items are down to almost nothing. I notice the change since last Wednesday.

"gaudy ghetto header"

I was wondering when somebody would get around to mentioning it. hate it.

When they original changed the home page the other day, the advance search option was not even on the search. I had to search for a seller where I had to go to the site map to find the option as it was not anywhere on a page.
Why oh why do they continue to mess things up???

I went to my store today, clicked on yarn, then on a particular type of yarn I have listed, and I got a list of every one of the items with that name on eBay. If a buyer does that, I hope they are not getting that when they go to my store.

I noticed that I am not getting bids on my newly listed items anymore. Someone on the store boards noted that the default search for "Browse" was changed last week from "newly listed" to "ending soonest" (the "search" default has always been "ending soonest".
I think this makes a big difference in number of bids as the items near the end of the cycle!

They also noted that it no longer makes any sense to use "featured item" because the items don't appear until they are "ending soonest" (I rarely use anyway but something to note for the rest of you who do)

I wish ebay would stop messing with things that WORK and fix the things that DON'T WORK!

The search is still screwed up. I have been doing more shopping than selling lately. I bookmarked a few items a while ago. They aren't coming up in any kind of searches now. I was able to get them very inexpensively. No competing bids. I think I'll keep shopping.
