Saw this post on another board, but i haven't verified it (since i don't sell on ebay) ...so you all verify it, before taking this 'hearsay' i've got lol...

------------------
"Hi everyone...This is Jamie Stark from eBay's Marketing team. Once again, I'm here to let all sellers know that you have a little over 24 hours to get ready for our next Auction-style listing promotion! On Thursday, May 24th, the insertion fees for Auction-style listings on www.ebay.com will only be 20¢.
The 20¢ Insertion Fee Sale starts on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 00:00:01 Pacific time (12:00 a.m. plus one second) and ends that same day, Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 23:59:59 Pacific time (11:59 p.m. plus 59 seconds). Listings which were created prior to May 24, 2007 and scheduled to start during the promotional period will also be eligible for the special promotional rate. Please note: If you schedule a listing to start during the promotional period, the regular price will still be displayed during the listing process. However, you will only be charged the promotional price."

Yes I got the memo!!
This is messing with my end the month plan. It's my opinion that you have to be very careful with your pricing during these sales as you can not count on multi bids (sometime just getting a bid) during these promotions.

Yes, this is the second one where they let us know ahead of time. I'm getting out the 'good stuff' for this one plus relisting some that I might not have before at full price. I did O.K. on the last 20 cent day.

Gosh! I do think ebay is slipping. I got notice early today, We use to get notice same day about 12 hours after it started. And if you wanted to take advantage of it you had to hussle and worry about launch getting through before the day was over. Either some dumba$$ at ebay let it get out early or they are hopefully getting their act together lol lol lol pardon me while I laugh my head off.

It is also Memorial Day weekend when a lot of people will be leaving town and many will take vacation time for the following week so one would expect listings for this period would be low. Ebay loses a lot of revenue on the gallery pics alone during this period to justify giving a 20 cent listing.

Vendio has it wrong - they are saying the 23rd. We want to list early but not that early:

Bay listing promotion 5/23: $0.20 insertion fee for auction style listings

X00540

eBay has announced that they will be running a $.20 listing promotion for auction style listings today, 5/23. We have recently made additional system enhancements to accommodate eBay promotions, but as always, we would encourage all sellers to launch earlier in the day to ensure eBay doesn't have throughput constraints. We will be monitoring the system very closely throughout the day to ensure optimal performance.

Just wondering if anyone else listed anything yesterday. I can never withstand the temptation to save those listing fees and usually do pretty good...last time was an exception as I only sold a few things. Hopefully, I will do better this time.

Yes, I listed about 25 things, way more than a normal day as I am a small fish in such a big pond. I did pretty well last time and it did get me off my duff and into listing mode again.

I had some listings planned anyway, and so added a few extra higher ticket items ... just because. Last time was a dud, so wasn't particularly driven this time.
