Found some BAK files in my waste bin. Not the 1st time Restored instead of emptying until I learn what BAK file stands for. Cannot find in any of my computer books. Does anyone know. Thanks!

Thanks Fuff. I gather then that they are not crucial to my operating system and it is OK to delete them when I find them in my waste bin.

Usually, yeah.

Old-style UNIX text editors ("It's an editor! No, it's a floor wax!" ) like EMACS were big on autosaving.

Oh man, I am dating myself. And that's a bummer because, well, there's no mystery.
