I forgot about ebays "new rule" about only charging 4.00 for media shipping. I have several boxes of childrens books and was listing a lot of over 40...needless to say I can't ship that many for 4.00 but when I tried to launch through auctiva it wouldn't go because of the shipping charges. Is there anyway around this or do I have to give ebay more money and divide them up or charge the customer more money and ship parcel post?

You can use calculated shipping. It seems a bit silly to do this if you are using Media Mail as it will be the same price regardless of buyer location but at least it will get you past the eBay shipping cops.

hi Parkman,
If you are listing them in a group, Ebay has given you a break on shipping. however, it is not the best solution if you want your book or books to be in a specific category. You have to list in the Wholesale & Bulk lots category. If you have books up to 5, they the shipping fee will be $6.00, 6-10 books = $6.00, 11-50 = $8.00, 51-100 = $15.00 and so on.
Clearly, this fee will not cover the shipping cost and you are inevitably stuck paying some of the shipping fee. I know cause I just experienced it the other day myself. I have 25 hardcovers of Zane Grey novels. The new fees do not cover the total cost of shipping this group to the East Coast. I am stuck paying $2.00. I am sure that it won't be a problem as they expect you to offset the cost by include it in the your opening bid or buy-it-now price.
