I know this is old news - but I really can't understand this. All buyers have 100% & sellers can have whatever. Really does not make any sense to me. Anyone have a reasonable explanation?

There is no reasonable explanation.

It is one of the CEO's 'disruptive innovations'

It's part of the new "Buyer's Satisfaction"
Ebay now feels that the buyer must be satisfied at all cost - seller's cost that is!!

When are they going to be concerned about "seller satisfaction". If there are no sellers, there will be no buyers.

Buyer feedback is now meaningless. A buyer could have screwed over any number of sellers and still have 100% feedback - no way to tell the good guys from the bad guys. Too bad its not like the old western movies - we could make the bad guys wear black hats!

Seller feedback is really meaningless also, since ebay only counts the last year of feedback for the percentage.

sthoemke, I think that is what pisses me off the most.
I know someone who has changed ID's every year or so due to many negative on her FB. She can now go back to any one of her old ID's and list away with 100% & no DSR's - just because she hasn't used it in over a year.
I'd love to know how this is protecting the buyers???

Do they even keep track of bid retractions any more??

I have a bidder that is obviously bidding and retracting whenever she finds a better deal. Is Ebay even watching this action any more??

ebay will prevent someone from bidding for 30 days if they have too many bid retractions.

"ebay will prevent someone from bidding for 30 days if they have too many bid retractions."

Define too many.

Don't know how many but I think it has to be reported to eBay, not sure on that however.
