Friends have asked, so, here goes:

The prodigal son has returned...finally!

Has been a real journey for poor ole Ralphie (and me)...

After my meltdown May 16, my shrink wanted me in the hospital ASAP, but I had to wait until the next morning to catch a ride up to JAX with my DIL...

I had hoped that my kid would take Ralphie & care for him while I was in the hospital, but, instead, he dumped him (and all his worldly possessions) at the HUMANE SOCIETY...

So, I was convinced that I had lost my boyo forever, and was all upset my first week in the hospital about that until the therapist convinced me to call the HS and ask about Ralphie...

Turns out that he WAS adopted, but the people never came back to pick him up, and, the HS's policy is to take care of one's dog if one is in the hospital...

So far, so good?

But, when I was discharged from the hospital after 30 days, the HS wanted Ralphie picked up IMMEDIATELY! My kid said he would, and then backed out on me at the last moment!

So, I paid a PET TAXI to pick him up (125 miles) and bring him up here to his VET in JAX...

Ai!Carrumba! Blew around $500 on vet bill, HS donation, transportation and to replace his possessions!

When I first saw him, I just about STROKED! He looked like a concentration camp victim...Or a rescue from ANIMAL PLANET's "Animal Cops" show...

In 30 days, Ralphie had lost 11 POUNDS! Went from 30lbs to 19lbs!!!
The VET says he's healthy except for the weight loss...

So, WE ARE BACK TOGETHER AGAIN...But I wonder if he wouldn't have been better off with someone else...Somebody who wouldn't have put him thru so much...

He still has terrible constant diarrhea which has me scared and worried; he really should see the VET again...He's been on FLAGYL, and then IMODIUM; but neither has helped...

This depression baloney is for the BIRDS!

I let them FRY MY NOODLE 5 times (ECT), but, so far, I haven't been impressed...

But, at least Ralphie & I are back together again...

Take care everybody out there in VD-LAND, and THANKS for all the kind comments and emails...

So glad your little friend is home!! Once you get him back to a normal routine both of you should be a lot better. Take your meds, give him his, and know someone is pulling for both of you to be happy and healthy again!!

Gland to hear you got your pal back Tom. No offense but it sounds to me like your KID needs to be sent to the pound and put up for adoption.
