Bidder bought item 2/9. Had trouble with Paypal, I sent him an invoice. Sent him a couple of emails via eBay. He is not a newbie. Never heard another word so today I filed a NPB. I get this and got a chuckle:

I am very disappointed that you opened an unpaid complaint! I have already contacted you about this.I have just attempted payment for the 8th time and as explained: I log into Paypay, I confirm Payment, I then receive this message:SORRY this page is not available at this time,Request could not be processed at this time. My first attempt was made within 24 hours after bidding stopped. You will notice I have a Hundred per cent approval. The problem is on your end and I hope you will rectify this situation IMMEDIATELY.JPK

I told him to contact eBay or Paypal. Just what you need. Ha.

Could he instead send a check or money order and get this over with?!

Beth, being unable to make a payment with PayPal is a real problem for many buyers.

I have been seeing problems with ebay/PayPal payments since Feb 2009 and have filed many trouble reports with both sites to no avail.

I have been a member of ebay since 2000 and as of Feb 2009, I cannot use ebay checkout without re-setting my IE security settings to Medium or Lower. To heck with them! I already have my activeX controls turned off most of the time because of all the security holes in it and I keep my IE security setting to Medium-High. Why should I have to risk the security of my system just to make a PayPal payment?

If your buyer is trying to send payment from his work computer or some other area with any decent security settings, it is highly likely that PayPal payments are not completed.

I know his frustration.

Ebay's attitude about the whole thing had ticked me off so much that I refused to even buy on ebay for several months. Ebay has still not fixed the checkout problems on their end so when I do make a purchase on ebay, I pay my sellers directly from PayPal.

Then there is a problem many of my repeat customers have been telling me about. They are finding that they suddenly cannot pay with PayPal, even when I send them a direct PayPal invoice. I do not know what the problem is but it is costing ebay, PayPal and ultimately us potentially good customers.

My work around to the madness is to send my customers a Google invoice. I also invite them to shop at my other non-ebay website where they can shop without dealing with ebay or PayPal.

I know he is telling the truth because I get the same problem when I try to leave tracking numbers sometimes.

He is an American working in Italy until June and I told him I would mail the ad today to his stateside address and he could send me a check when he gets back. Already left him positive feedback and mailed the item.

The Paypal and eBay glitches are costing us money, I agree! And, I offered him google checkout which I use on my other sites but he was not set up for that.
