I usually issue a refund immediately upon return of an item.
I actually purchased an item that did not function properly, so I requested a return to the seller. I shipped it back in the original packaging exactly as it was received on 3/10 and it arrived on Thursday, 3/12.
No refund, no communication. Seems a bit unprofessional to not issue a refund at this point.
I will add, the seller is a business, not an individual. They sent me return instructions the weekend prior to me shipping it.

I too issue a refund immediately upon receipt of item. I would call. Sometimes packages get missed or received by another person in the home and the seller isn't aware of receipt. If this isn't the case, then I would blast em.

depends on how hardpressed is the seller?
If you bought it on Ebay, better open a case and upload your tracking,Ebay should refund you based on tracking.

I received a reply to my refund request -
"Hello. We just received your package and will process the refund within 5 days."
I wasn't too thrilled about it, so I replied back that they received it 6 days ago and they need to issue the refund immediately. They complied.
I had purchased a Bluetooth receiver for my clock radio. The photo on the listing showed the exact same clock radio, yet it didn't function properly.
It was one of those big warehouses that sell electronic accessories and gets hundreds of feedbacks each week. It was in the USA, but it was obvious that English was not their 1st language. I won't buy that stuff from China b/c if it is defective I don't want to pay high return shipping fees if I can get it in the USA.

I refund immediately as well but they probably have many more returns than I do.
I would give them another day and then file.
