Works on Chrome but can not revise. Will not load at all using explorer. Going to guess maintenance.

Thank God this access is here. I cannot sign into ebay today. Someone has really screwed up in ebay and everyone is blocked out.

Great for people with auctions like me ending today. Wonder what will happen to those auctions if nobody could bid the last 3-4 hours where all the bidding is.

From what I have read so far on threads, it seems as though eBay has been hacked.

Be very careful with redirects. Some people reported being redirected to a Russian website.

It seems to be back up and running.

Estimated time down was 4.5 hours.

I was just reading some of the comments on the isitdown.com site.

One person reported 4 hours ago that he found that his personal address had been changed in his eBay account and that he had just been contacted by his Credit card Company to say that there appeared to be some unauthorised use of his Credit card and they were cancelling it and treating it as a stolen card.

There was also another report of an Unauthorised charge to Office Max on a persons Pay Pal account and when he called them was told that another attempt had also been made to charge his account.
No reason to doubt these two reports so things are looking a little scary.

I was waiting last evening for the outage to be reported on the News but nothing and there did not seem to be anything in major newspapers this morning. Strange as it was a Global outage again and I would have thought it warranted attention!

email received from Ebay

I'm writing to you today about the recent technical issues that have affected eBay, and to let you know how you—as a valued seller—are protected.

On Sunday, September 14, a number of eBay sites and customer service platforms around the world experienced intermittent issues. When the disruption began—at 3:15AM PDT—the eBay Technology Team immediately began work towards resolving it. By 10:45AM PDT that day, the vast majority of site functionality had been restored.

The personal information of our customers was not compromised by this incident.

We know how much it matters to your livelihood that eBay functions properly, and that lately our performance hasn't met your expectations. We apologize for this and are taking steps to ensure that we do meet them going forward.

As a seller with transactions impacted by this issue, you will be protected as follows:
eBay will automatically credit all fees for certain listings that ended between 3:15AM PDT through 12:45PM PDT on Sunday, September 14. The additional two hours will help ensure we're assisting all of the customers potentially affected.
The fee credit will apply to auction-style listings that ended (except those that sold for a Buy It Now price) and any fixed price listings that ended without a sale (except 30-day and Good 'Til Cancelled listings)
If the affected listing was a free listing, it can be relisted for free within 7 days, even if the seller has used all allotted free listings
Any transaction defects we can identify as resulting from this issue will be removed and not impact the seller's performance record.
Top Rated status and Top Rated Plus discounts will be protected for sellers who were not able to upload tracking information to eBay within their stated handling time due to this issue.
The credits will be applied to your account by September 22 and reflected on your October-dated invoice.

Nothing is more important to us than our customers, and eBay is committed to maintaining your trust.

As always, thank you for selling on eBay.

awww... so nice of ebay. As if that makes up for the reputation hit they took from potential buyers who will now go elsewhere.

What a joke!

Why do they have to make it so complicated??

I had one of those letters after the last outage and I was pretty disgusted.

Why not credit each Store owner with a half months fee and all others with a full refund of listing fees on anything listed in this 'September horribilus'. Unfortunately nothing can compensate sellers who had auctions end at a low price because Buyers could not bid.

But eBay does not work the 'KISS' theory they prefer the 'mushroom' theory...feed 'em *** and keep 'em in the dark!

"Nothing is more important to us than our customers, and eBay is committed to maintaining your trust."

Yeah, right.
[And this is where I would enter one of those animated laughing icons if I knew how to do it.]

Kind of like the good old bad days!! But now there are so few buyers or so many sellers - we can't afford to miss even one bid.
