Just this month, I had 2 buyers who wanted to pick up some furniture items. One made the offer prior to asking about pick up.
The other actually picked up and paid before making an offer. I asked him to make the offer after the fact so that we would not be in violation of eBay rules.
After I marked the items shipped - I tried to put in local pick up but it wasn't an option.
Yesterday I looked and I had 2 items showing as tracking not uploaded in time (2 defects).
I called eBay and was told that if I didn't have local pick up in my listing, the system would not show it as uploaded in time - no matter what I do.
CS suggested that I add it to all my large items so this won't happen in the future. Well I tried but all other shipping options went away and it left local pick up only. That won't work as most buyer don't want to pick up. They just go to the next seller.
I had a lady want to pick up some jewelry because she lives in the same city. I guess I'm lucky she didn't win the auction.
So here we go again - by trying to work with my buyers - I get 2 defects. Just GREAT eBay.

Not surprised.
I've seen my vintage sales on eBay really slow down, with the exception of a few items that we sell new. I dropped next day shipping on all of my items and continue to downgrade my service. Sure, there is a small place for ebay, but I am no longer reliant, or even dependent on them any longer... THANK GOODNESS!!!
On the flip side, I've had almost 300 sales at etsy in the last 9 months with very few issues or worries of defects, etc.
