Well...virus is still here and so are we. We're back in Minnesota and listing again because there isn't much else we can do! Hope everyone is doing well.. let us hear from you.

Would love to talk about eBay managed payments and what you think about them if you are using them. Hard to turn down with so many FREE listings offered as permanent (or so they say/nothing is permanent) feature.

Well take care everybody and wear those masks and stay safe!

NOt enjoying how managed payments has changed my end of month reports for accounting. Not at all. In fact the accounting is piling up as i try to figure out a new way to merge the information and of making it work for me. I have been using a Dome accounting book and a pencil for decades, and at this point have no desire to learn how to use an online accounting program, if that is what it takes. ::sigh::
I also prefered telling PayPal when and exactly how much to move from my account to my bank, but that is not so big a deal.

sorry to rant a little, but you asked. LOL

Meanwhile, I guess I still have plenty of time to figure it all out as we continue to isolate and stay safe.

On another note, it would be nice to see this board become active again.

I agree that it would be nice to see this board active again. I wonder if more people will find their way back to eBay with the free listing/managed payment offer. I hope the managed listings work ok. I had a slight problem with Vendio integration but it's working now.

I agreed to managed payments because of the free additional listings. I was able to downgrade from a premium store to a basic because I need between 1,000 listings and 10,000/month, saving me $$. I hope it doesn't affect search visibility.

I also am using sponsored listings. It's about the only way I can figure to get my stuff out there when it is buried so deep in search and I only have to pay if something sells. Would like to discuss strategies on that.

Take care wg

Trying to stay safe in rural North Florida.

I just started managed payments yesterday but I need to switch accounts because I set it up with my regular bank account. I don't think that's going to work too well.

The biggest pain with managed payments is that eBay transfers money every single day! Sometimes it's just $6!! I don't see a place to reconcile the payouts...I've been trusting eBay (maybe not the best policy) but it would be nice to see monthly transactions on a spread sheet.I think the cost is about the same as PayPal with the added benefit of more free listings. It would be nice to opt in to weekly payouts so there aren't so many little transactions. I can understand why one might want to set up another bank account! Nice to hear from you Ladyjewels. We are staying safe in Minnesota and will be migrating to California for the winter in a couple of weeks...it's a long drive through some not-so-safe areas!

Is there a reason that you can't opt in to weekly payments? I see the option to change on my Managed Payments link that says Payout Settings. Payments > Payout Settings > Payout Schedule-Change.
I can't imagine having to deal with daily payouts. Even with weekly payouts the reconciliation is tedious.

I had a few issues already.
I'm not getting daily deposits - need to check how that is set up.
What's crazy is I did a label yesterday and the funds still came out of paypal. Thank goodness I left some money in there but what if I hadn't? So now I'm paying for shipping before I have the funds - nice.
Also had someone purchase and pay for an item and then ask if I could use her UPS account to ship it. She needed it quickly. I ended up using my UPS account but had no way to bill her for the difference. eBay was clueless - they finally allowed me to send her my email address (after almost an hour on the phone with them).
I ended up just paying the extra myself - it was only $15 and it was $125 item. She didn't try to get a better price, so I'm still happy.
But it shows you that eBay isn't really ready for this change.
My BP goes up every time I have to talk to eBay on the phone.

Have you figured a way to actually TALK to eBay? I have spent hours trying to work around their automated "help"...their live chat is also automated. Finally, when I started swearing at the live chat I got a real person to call me. I can see why your blood pressure goes up!
