FASHION TIP OF THE DAY:

How to insert paragraph returns in an Auctionwatch Posting?

This is easier done than with HTML. As you end the paragraph, hit your "Enter" or "Return" key twice...

...then begin typing your second paragraph. This will insert the white space you see above this paragraph. Essentially producing the same result as typing BR in HTML code.

So..if I have a image on file C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP\My Briefcase\blahblahblah by putting this [ img ] in front and this
[/ img ] at the end, it should post an image? Only without the spaces right?

right, no, wrong. The image needs to be in space.

Unfortunately, you cannot link images to your hard drive. Do you have image hosting via AW, AOL, or your own server? If so, store the image there, then type the image location between the [ img ] tags.

ie http://www.dkl.com/beanie.jpg, etc.

%$#*&$
tryin here,...sorry for bringing this back up repeatedly.
I had wanted to show a pic thats now stored on AW, it's a Butler Rangers tunic button and was hoping somebody could tell real or fake.
I'll practice on someones guestbook till I get it.
I do have space available but AW has made me lazy as far as learning how to transfer pics there.

Your tags need to be on the same line as the file location code.

Universal Bulletin Board?

Our options for UBB tags are extremely limited. AW has most codes "turned off".

Here's a pretty cool site that shows a lot of html tags.
Someday I might understand it all too.

Ninan - The link you typed was as follows:

http://www.auctionwatch.com/msg/elvisdunkx.gif

I'm not sure, but I think "msg" should be replaced with another folder name. Give it another shot.

I miss "underlining" and being able to do the "quotes"--are those a couple of the UBB codes that AW has turned off now?

Good thread, Annie--now also in my bookmarks...and that's a first for an AW thread.

Thanks! ...Beth

Looks like AW is going to be a lot more colorful around here!

Beth - They have turned off quote and underlining. Would have been nice to have more options, but we can still draw a masterpiece with what we have left, eh?

Glad some of you have it bookmarked as it will scroll off into the wild blue yonder soon. Now we know who to go to when we need to find it.
