Hi jimhaber,

There are no fees for withdrawing your money via ACH transfer. The .6% is an optional feature within the business account.

Sorry. PayPal is not able to solve its current problems because we are too busy not solving last weeks problems.

I just thought of something. What happens if someone makes a claim on Paypal and paypal gets restricted for a week? Does that mean all paypal payments get accepted but no one can see who paid them?

I almost forgot this:
Entry Date: October 9, 200 Effective Date: October 16, 2000

In order to encourage our customers to withdraw funds by electronic transfer rather than by check, as of Monday, October 16, there will be a $1.50 postage and handling fee on check withdrawals. There is no fee for electronic transfer, which usually requires only 3-4 days to complete (compared to 1-2 weeks for checkwithdrawals).

Will Pay Pal be able to prove it sent the check and when? Or can we freeze their account if they can't prove it? Any Attorneys need a job?

Sure you can have bacon, egg, and cheese...but there will be a $1.50 shipping and handling fee unless you eat it ELECTRONICALLY!

Thanks to everyone that responded to this thread. Thanks to Damon for finally getting this dealt with. And special thanks to AW for hosting this thread. I finally received the following email from Paypal. It is so sad that it took Damon to get this simple matter expedited. I do not remember how I stumbled into this thread. I am sure nothing would have happened if I hadn't. I feel sorry for the thousand of users out there that never find this thread. Although they released my account and it was no fault of mine it cost me hundreds of dollars in lost sales, changing logos and links in current auctions, taking time to deal with the situation through emails phone calls to this thread, Paypal and customers. Plus the customer goodwill I have lost to the stigma that my "account was frozen".

Dear Clay,

Thank you for contacting PayPal.

Your account has been unrestricted. After closing our
investigation, your account was found to be unrelated to the
case. We apologize for any inconven ience that you have
experienced. You are now free to log into your account.

"Pal Pal is now gonna charge .6% to anyone with Premire or business account to get their money out of their account. these fees are adding up!"

Has something changed on the automatic sweep option? I thought the .6% for the automatic sweep was an option, and has been such ever since Premiere/Business accounts were introduced June or July.

HI uaru,

Yes, the auto sweep is still an option on the account.

Yeah, I'm sure that I would like to know - and maybe there are others who would also like to know. Is the bottom line on this whole mismanaged saga the fact that PayPal made a mistake (found to be unrelated to the case) and that PayPal now calmly says "We apologize for any inconvenience that you have experienced."? Give me a break! They tie up hundreds or thousands of your dollars, make you look like THE CRIMINAL, cause a loss of good will with your customers, not to speak of the aggravation, loss of sleep, etc. and they get off the hook with an "OOPS! My bad!" Unbelievably sad!

I have been lucky and haven't had any money tied up. It's just that I have empathy for those who are having problems of that sort (e.g., dodge98ram) and I am deeply disturbed by the fiasco that PP is perpetrating on most of us with the ever-changing rules, added fees, and no verifiable contact with the world of common sense. As of last week, I have quit advertising PP in my auctions and am now promoting ExchangePath which has worked just fine for 9 completed auctions to date. Like most PayPal users, I loved it as it was just great. But this love affair was extinguished when they began cheating on me.

My account has been restricted since 9/22. I have a Premire Verified account. Still no answer from the so called investigation, Why can't I have the details on what the investigation is about. I guess thwe best I can hope for is a "our investigation didn't find anything, sorry for the inconveniance"
They have almost $700 tied up, They are doing the same thing to my son with over $1000.

This is EXACTLY why we wont use the service.
They charge fee's, our merchant account has fee's too. PP's fees are cheaper than our merchant account fees. Either way the fee's are tax deductible as a business expense.

HOWEVER... When problems DO occur we are IN THE LOOP not subjected to our account being shut off while people still pay, NOT subject to investigations where we hear NOTHING for weeks on end while we loose money hand over fist.

Our merchant account charges 2.35% as compared to PayPal's 1.9%. IS THE DIFFERENCE WORTH IT?

PUT your business in someone elses hands and waive all your rights and you get what you get.

I dont think there is any mystery to why PP ties up accounts - its a great way to make more money in interest. While they supposedly "investigate" for 30+ days (from what I am reading), think of how much money they are collecting. What a great scheme!
Wish I had thought of it. As much as I hate to admit it, I think this is an area that is going to need some regulation fast. Its a shame, but it appears that they are asking for it with their shady business practices.

Update on my PayPal "Administrative Restriction". Presently my account
has a balance of over $1000 and I can
not send or receive money, but Paypal
enjoys the benifit of still collecting
money from people adding to this balance.
My update is as follows. I have a restricted
account since 9-22-00. Progess, NONE....
Customer Service is not helping.
Paypaldamon has emailed me wanting details,
nothing has transpired. My account is
still restricted going on one month.

I do not recommend this company, Paypal
to many problems, no customer support.
Ever changing rules. Simply a mess, and
to complicated. When is somebody going
to get off their rear end and fix my
account.. What am I to tell buyers who
keep sending me money and are expecting
me to ship products. This money that
is sitting in paypals hands is not mine
until its in my bank account.........

Lets get some response on this subject..

Dennis

PayPal needs to take responsibility for the problems they have caused for hundreds, probably thousands, of people. Steve can help us. I strongly encourage all of you who have been damaged by PayPal to email him.

UGH!!! I've been getting the same email for over a week, but no matter how many times I reply I get "You have not responded....".

I sell software that I publish, so I never track items. If the customer emails me they didn't get it I just ship a replacement. Anyway, the customer is happy but the emails keep comming.

Time for a merchant account I think. This is a pain.

Sad too... I sell to eBay sellers. I guess that PayPal link will have to go from my webpage.

many customers of paypal.com are experiencing poor customer service and non-responsive service reps who are simply "beating around the bush" and "passing the ball", if not outright abuse of their own TOS.

i've started a yahoo club at the following URL if ur interested. please spread the word.

thanks.

I am new to this site - as i am having severe problems with paypal - i feel that my story must be told here. I have been selling with ebay for about 4 years , i have been doing business with paypal for the past 3 years . I have not had any complaints , until now. My paypal account has been frozen by limited access, i have over $25,000 dollars in my account and as soon as go to withdraw MY money - in which customers have paid for merchandise that i have sent out - Paypal limits my account , asking for information that they should have asked for years ago , when i opened my account.

Is Paypal in that much financial trouble that they need to freeze accounts to harbor monies to pay for law suits?

I have gone around and around with paypal , they ask me for one thing to clear up my account. When i provide them with this , they then in turn ask for more , my account has been tied up for nearly a month, and i am at a point where my business is failing , i cannot afford to pay my vendors, i had to let 2 employees go, i cannot afford my mortgage payment, I am receiving increasing negative feedbacks , because my customers are not trusting me , when i tell them that paypal has locked my funds/ their monies.

I am at the point where i am going to seek legal representation, as well as contact the Louisiana Atty general, and the appropriate state trade regulation agencies.

If anyone out there can offer any advice , I would most certainly appreciate it .

Thank you
