How do I create and launch a new listing? To create and launch a new listing using Sales Manager, refer to our Get Started guide, available in a printable PDF format. You can find this guide in the Help section, or simply follow the URL below:
-
I only see a few of my listings in Sales Manager. Where are the rest?To see all of your active, pending, or closed listings, login and click the Sales Manager Tab. In the left navigation bar, select Control Panel, then All Active, All Pending, or All Closed, depending on the set of items you want to view. Once you have made your selection, all of your listings will appear on the page, with the page numbers displayed below the list.
Note that you can set the Sales Manager page to display up to 50 listings per section. To change the number of listings displayed in your Control Panel, login, click on the My Account link at the top of the page, then click on the Sales Manager Display link. After you have set your display preferences, click the 'Save' button.
-
What is the Track Other Listings feature for?The Track Auction feature allows you to track auctions (both your own and other auctions) in Sales Manager.
At this time, you can track auctions by listing ID number for Amazon, eBay, and Yahoo marketplaces. If you are tracking your own auction, and your auction site ID is correctly entered in your preferences, the auction will appear highlighted in blue. If you are tracking another auction, it will appear highlighted in gray. Note that tracked auctions will not reflect a value in the "hits" column.
To track an auction, login, and click the Sales Manager Tab. Select Import/Track > Track. On the Track Other Listings page, select the venue from the Auction Site dropdown menu, then enter the listing ID number in the empty text field. Click the 'Track' button, which will display the auction you are attempting to track.
-
How does Import My Listings work? You can import all of your currently active and closed listings, including images, into Sales Manager. This will allow you to import all data from active listings that you launched using another service, so that you can manage and relist the items from our website. To begin the import, login and click the Sales Manager Tab. In the left navigation bar, select Import/Track > Import. On the Import My Listings page, click the 'Import my eBay Listings' button. Please note that it may take several minutes for all of your listings to be imported.
Before you begin the import, please make sure that your eBay ID is stored correctly in your Auction Site Accounts page. To get to this page, login, click on the My Account link at the top of the page, then click on the Auction Site Accounts link.
Click here for more information on what data will be imported.
Note that at this time our system is configured to import eBay listings only.
-
What is the difference between Tracking and Importing Listings?Track Other Listings is mainly for tracking listings that are not your own. For example, if you are interested in bidding on one or several items, you can conveniently track it/them in Sales Manager. This will enable you to easily view the status of all items you are interested in purchasing, in one place. Track Other Listings can also be used if you find a single item missing from your Control Panel, or if you need to import a closed listing.
The Import My Listings feature will allow you to import all data from active listings that you launched using another service, so that you can manage and relist the items from our website. Import My Listings will also allow you to easily import images** that are hosted on various image hosting sites. Imported listings will be available for relist through our website. Note that this feature is intended for use only once - repeated uses of this feature may result in unexpected system behavior.
**Note that images will not necessarily retain the original file name. In some cases, the images will be assigned filenames by our system.
-
How do I enable or disable the 'Click to Enlarge' option for my images? The automatic image resizing option may be enabled or disabled by following these steps:
- Login, and click on the My Account link at the top of the page.
- Click on the Global Preference link.
- Select the 'Automatically scale down large images for faster download and cleaner presentation' checkbox, and click the 'Save' button.
Please be aware that automatic resizing will only be activated if an image is over 250 pixels wide. If your image is 250 pixels wide or smaller, it will not appear in the scaled-down format on your listing.
-
I have launched a "recurring" listing, but I can't find it. Where is it?When you use the "recur" function, the listings will go to your pending file already scheduled to launch in the selected intervals. You can see them at the end of your pending list. To access them, select Control Panel > All Pending in the left navigation bar of Sales Manager. On the All Pending Listings page, use the page numbers to access scheduled listings (which will appear at the end of the list).
-
How do I cancel listings that are scheduled to launch? You can unschedule your listings either singly or in bulk. To unschedule a single listing, click the listing title then scroll to the bottom of the page and click the 'Undo Launch' button.
To bulk unschedule your auctions, select Control Panel > All Pending in the left navigation bar of Sales Manager. On the All Pending Listings page, select the checkbox(s) of the auctions you want to unschedule and click the 'Cancel' button at the top of the list.
If you would like to reschedule the auctions, select the checkbox(s) of the auctions you want to reschedule, and click the 'Resubmit' button. On the next page, you will have the option to launch immediately or reschedule the auctions to launch at a later time.
-
How do I cancel an active listing?Once a listing has been launched to a venue and is active, you will need to cancel it on the venue website directly. Deleting an active listing from Sales Manager will not cancel the listing on the venue.
To end an eBay listing early, you may sign into your eBay account and use the "End My Listing" feature located under Site Map -> Buying and Selling (Manage My Items For Sale.)
Once the auction is canceled, it will drop underneath the Closed Listings Tab in Sales Manager.
-
How can I make changes to an active listing?Once a listing has been launched and is active, all editing must be done from the venue website. You should find an edit or revise option under seller services, which will allow you to either edit your auction or add to the description.
Note that most venues will not allow you to make changes to the item description once there are bids, but you should be allowed to add more information.
-
How can I add or edit text, logos, etc. that will appear in all of my listings? To enter a default message that will appear in every listing created in Sales Manager, go to the Custom Listing Text page. Login, click on the My Account link at the top of the page, then click on the Custom Listing Text link. The first option for Default Text is text that appears in all listings after the last paragraph of your description.
Additionally, Vendio offers fully customizable templates that have up to five customized sections for additional details, selling terms, or other "fine print." You can label these sections with a title that is linked from the top of the description and add text in each section. These sections will be displayed in any of the customized templates (linked from "Template Workshop" in Sales Manager). Templates marked with an asterisk (*) will NOT display these custom sections.
These text boxes will accept HTML in addition to straight text. Be sure to click the Save Preference button after you have entered your default and custom messages or made the necessary changes.
Note that any changes you make in this area will apply to auctions that are pending and/or scheduled to launch.
-
How do I create a Holiday or custom template? To create templates with custom layouts and "special" themes, please follow these steps:
- Login, click on the My Account link at the top of the page, then click on the Custom Templates link.
- Click the 'Template Workshop' button -- the workshop will open in a pop up window for you.
- To your left will be a Style section -- you may choose your template there. Underneath that is the Layout section, where you can decide how you want your images to display. On your right is the preview of the template with Edit buttons for various sections. These buttons are there for you to edit the template further, if you so desire (click "preview" under the template thumbnail to see a larger version).
- Name and save the template, in the lower right corner of the Template Workshop pop up.
Please check out our Custom Template FAQ for more information on custom templates.
-
How do I add an image to the eBay Gallery? As you list your auction using Sales Manager, you will see an eBay Gallery Picture section in the Features area, which is just underneath the template and category sections. To add an eBay Gallery image to your listing, check the 'eBay Gallery' radio button and select an image from the dropdown to the right. When you select an image from the dropdown, it will appear to your left as a preview image, so that you know the gallery image chosen is the correct one you want to use.
Note that this option is $.25 and that the charge will appear on your eBay statement.
-
How do I change or correct the Gallery image that was submitted to eBay?If the image displayed in the eBay Gallery is not the one you want, you will need to correct this by submitting the correct image URL to eBay. To obtain the URL to the image you want in the eBay Gallery, click the Image Hosting button to go to the Image Hosting homepage. Select the checkbox next to your image, and click the 'Attach Image' button. Select 'Other Auction Site (generate HTML)' from the dropdown menu, and click the 'Continue' button. On the next page, you will see a box of HTML. The image URL will be embedded in the HTML and will look like this:
http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/yourusername/yourimagename.jpg
(Note: This is an example only - it is NOT your URL!)You can copy and paste the URL into eBay's Gallery correction form.
A couple things to watch for:
- Make sure that you are not using a URL that contains /.mids/
- Make sure that you are not using a URL that contains /viewimage.x/
-
How do I format the text in my listing? When entering your text into the description box for your new item listing, you will need to use some basic HTML tags to allow the text to be formatted with paragraph breaks and line breaks. The tags you need are listed below:
< P > - Insert this before any text where you would like to start a new paragraph.
< BR > - Insert this where you would like a simple line break (as if you hit the enter key.)
Please Note: When using those two tags, please eliminate the spaces before and after the P and BR.
You may also use various other HTML tags to change your font size/color, etc. There are many online HTML tutorials, as well as a guide provided by eBay, available at this URL: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sellerguide/selling-html.html
-
How do I get a thumbnail picture at the top of my eBay listing in the title bar?To enable the header image at the top of your eBay listings in the title bar (also known as the picture preview or photo preview), go to My Account -> Site Specifics -> eBay. Scroll down to the Photo Preview section at the bottom of the page, and select one of the four available options. Click the 'Save' button when you are finished. This preference will apply globally to all listings you create, but note that it will not apply to listings that have already been created and saved.

-
What is the circular icon next to my listing? This is an indication that the auction was set to auto-relist. You will know which listings you have set to auto-relist as they will display this indicator.
