With cream (that's whole milk when available) and sugar until it looks like chocolate milk. Starting drinking it just like that at grandma's table when I still called it "toffee". Instant...ACK.
I love Starbucks Vanilla in the bottle though it cost a fortune and I can drink a six pack. It doesn't even taste like coffee though.
My beverage of choice is sweet iced tea very very cold. Lemon is a bonus. Instant..ACK.

I love iced coffee, provided it is sweetened the right way. But apart from that I absolutely hate the taste of coffee, I adore the smell of it, and just love to walk past the coffee houses and smell the different blends. Sounds silly I guess but I somehow love to smell coffee but I can not stand the taste of it apart from when it is in the form of an iced coffee with ice cream and sprinkles on top. I have been known to brew a pot of coffee just to let it sit so that the smell goes through the house, as a matter of fact it was one of the things we were told to do when we were selling the our house. The real estate agent said it always is a good selling point and makes the house seem more welcoming if you either have a cake baking or a pot of coffee brewing. Well you can not have a cake in the oven all day everyday but coffee can brew for ages. LOL
My husband can not live without his coffee, and he suffers withdrawals if he does not have his morning, afternoon, evening and everytime in between coffee. He starts to climb the walls if he does not have his coffee. Coffee addiction is a powerful thing.

italian espresso roast, espresso grind. strong - 3 large teaspoons to make 3/4s of a mug. 2 cups a day, with a flat teaspoon of sugar, toasted almond coffeemate. no coffeemate = don't even bother.
i didn't start drinking coffee on any regular basis until i was in my mid-30s. as a child i thought it was a foul adult punishment, although the smell of freshly ground beans was great - kind of peanutty. first taste of brewed coffee was very disappointing!

COFFEE!!COFFEE!!COFFEE!!
I drink a minimum of 8 large iced coffee's a day from Dunkin' Donuts (hence, ddicffe). I started drinking coffee when I was about 9 (same year my uncle got me to start drinking booze, but we will not go there). I drank 2-3 cups a day, along with 1-2 fifth's of whiskey a day. When I finally stopped all the booze, I found out how much I loved the stuff!! When I drank, it was always black. Now, I have 2 sugars and 4 creams in it (someone once told me it was sugar in the whiskey I was missing when I started adding it to the coffee). I think I set a new record yesterday, as I had 13 cups of joe (VERY BAD day at work, let me tell you!). I often tell my wife; "The only problem I have with everything God created is He should have made all water flavored with coffee; why have wet, bland water when you can have the good stuff?! (All she EVER drinks is water, ever!)"

Black and strong. When the coffee maker is started in the morning I get the first cup before it finishes brewing (that cup is REAL strong)
I picked up a liking for expresso from some Cuban friends in Miami. I like expresso with a little sugar.

LoL I can remember when it was so easy to order a cup of coffee...only options were cream or sugar. Now, I would feel more at home in a French restaurant than Starbucks.

Helen, that's so true. I'm actually surprised when I stop for breakfast at a place such as IHOP and actually have a good cup of plain coffee - no need for anything other than a little half-and-half to cool it down.

So funny that you mentioned that you like to drink your coffee out of a thin rimmed china cup! I thought I was the only one who was picky about what cup I used.
I prefer a white ceramic cup with a not-too-thick and not-too-thin rim. I have about four cups in the cupboard that my family knows not to touch. They are MY coffee cups and I have to wash one if they're all used even if I have other clean cups available.
I don't know why, but coffee tastes different to me in different vessels. As for drinking in the car, if I have to, I use a stainless mug with a stainless interior and no plastic on the rim. Starbucks sold a nice one a while back and I was lucky to find one at a garage sale for 50 cents.
I also wanted to add that I use a permanent gold screen filter in my coffeemaker as it makes better coffee than those paper filters.

I prefer my coffee as part of a lovely Tiramisu.
Chocolate Coffee Tiramisu
1 1/2 cups 5% ricotta cheese
1/2 cup light cream cheese
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 egg whites
1/3 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup strong prepared coffee
3 tablespoons chocolate/coffee-flavored liqueur
16 lady finger cookies
Spray a 9-inch square baking dish with vegetable spray.
In food processor, combine ricotta cheese, cream cheese, sugar, cocoa, egg
yolk and vanilla until smooth; transfer to a bowl.
In bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and
continue to beat until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whites into the
ricotta mixture.
Combine coffee and liqueur in a small bowl.
Put half of lady fingers in bottom of dish. Sprinkle with half of
coffee-liqueur mixture. Spread half of ricotta mixture on top.
Repeat layers. Cover and chill for at least 3 hours, or overnight.
(My momma sent this recipe along recently ... so I can't vouch for its yumminess but it sounds darn lovely to me.)

One shop I worked at had pretty good coffee and the place was mostly Yugoslavians and they liked it strong. One morning however the stuff was nasty and several of us would not drink it. After a couple hours the guys who did were running for the bathroom and really sick.
It was always the new guys job to make it so we asked this new guy to show us how he made it and he could speak almost no English - just Serbian - but watching we could see nothing wrong.
Then some bright fellow thought to ask did you clean the pot? Oh yes yes he said - You have to have a good clean pot. So we said show us - and watched as he rinsed and washed everything and then took a clean pad of paper towels and soaked them in the degreaser we used to strip microwave parts and wiped out the oily film.....
This stuff had all kinds of warnings on it. Do not breath vapor /do not come in contact with skin. But of course he could not read that. Well in stripped a few of these guys out pretty good also.

The best coffee I ever had was when I stole a drink of Mom's. I can have the same cup of coffee that she made for me at the same time, but hers still tastes better!
She likes sugar in hers.
When Mom is not around my coffee is 1/4 milk, no cream, no sugar
Now ... where do I buy that candy? I have a score to settle ! lol

Zilvy that sounds like my husband on a good day.
I may not really like that taste of coffee to drink, but I was remembering a time when someone made a coffee fudge and it was so nice I wish I had the recipe. I did try to make it once, but it was not the same.
