Helen, do you see the name "Andy Williams" ^there? Neither do I. In fact I know nothing about Andy Williams. I couldn't tell you if he is maudlin or not. I'll take your word that he is. Maybe he can do a maudlin duet with Neil Diamond and you can cry in your beer.
The thread you refer to was a "tribute" to someone I admire (depending upon which day of the week it is). His name isn't Andy. (To my knowledge).
Well I am happy that your memory is refreshed about the song. The words usually determine the maudlin nature of the music.
Like many other topics, it appears that we disagree on this one too. But because we disagree does not indicate that I do not know what I am talking about and that you are always right.
