Here's a story I saw in my paper last week that I grinned at. In all fairness I think the waitress has a legitimate complaint. Working to be the winner in a contest and being blindfolded and led into the parking lot to be laughed at was a bit on the mean side.
I'm all for humor but I think the restaurant manager's humor had a bit of a mean streak.

The employees were told they'd "have to pay taxes on the vehicle." It wasn't just the manager--it was the corporation owning the restaurant. Competing waitresses from all the Hooters restaurants in the area were entered in the drawing. I am sure that *all* of them thought they were competing for a car.
IMO, they should cough up either the car or the cash. Not to mention apologizing to their employees.

I saw that story on the news. They never said "vehicle". The employees kept asking if it was a truck, car or van, and all that was answered was "you have to pay the taxes on it". I think its a disgrace...they led them on, to where ALL the Hooters places were involved, so it wasnt just the one bar. I hope she gets her car..and from what I have been hearing, Hooters plans to fight it all the way. Buncha Losers in my book.

Sorry but what do you expect from a chain that is founded on lack of respect for women?
They sat down and said what is the crudest name we can come up with to attract the maladjusted bubbas in the door that the city won't make us take down?
My wife and I went in one in Florida when we were desperate for a place to stop walking but generally I have never thought crude was cute. My brother in law does, but then he is still stuck on potty jokes and runs around on his lovely wife with some god awful babes and thinks he has gotten away with something by shooting himself in the foot.

It would have been a cute joke of they had showed her the "toy yoda", got her reaction, and then handed her the keys to a Toyota.

I'm a man and I think for them to lead an employee out by blindfold into the parking lot to be made a fool of is pure meanest. It wasn't good PR to me. I'd imagine others there were embarrassed to witness such a mean prank.
99% of the time when I hear about someone suing a company I'd probably side with the company I see a lot of liability for things that can't be completely controlled by a company. However, if I was on the jury the woman would probably drive away in a Toyota Land Cruiser at the end of the trial.
