LOL!
I think it all comes down to choices. I am glad I have choices. If I have a sure thing, that I believe will draw several bids, I would opt to list it on Ebay. If I have a slower moving item or one that I do not want to lose money on, I will list it on a free site. I am not a professional seller, have never had a brick & mortor building, nor am I claiming that. I buy what interests me, and I resell! I have fun with it! Yahoo was great until they made the fatal decision (IMO) to charge listing fees instead of FVF. I had several $1,000 months and a couple of nearly $2,000 months, while I sold there. That would not support my family and that was never the intention. The reason I am saying this, is because some believe that if an item relists (Heaven, forbid) that it is junk. Well, in my case that has not proven to be true. I have hundreds of happy customers and have had fun while doing it. I am admitting ~ I relist! So what! Everyone is different and I am glad we all have choices. We all should do what works best for us, and not be persuaded with numbers that do not relay the entire picture. Unlike, the choices we have regarding Microsoft!
Fixed one typo, probably have more!

Thanks for the real-life example of why Bidville will not be in head-to-head competition with eBay anytime soon. Or later for that matter.

I certainly believe that if Bidville had 600,000 non-inventory warehouse listings they at least had a chance.
But since the inventory warehousers have flooded the auctionsite with items they acknowledge have little chance of selling that clearly isn't going to happen.
So with a poor listings profile, few pageviewers and even fewer bidders, what's the future for Bidville then?

Even Yahoo wasn't in Ebay's league and they had nearly 3 million listings. You expect too much! If you don't like the action then you have choices (take one).

I do not have a crystal ball and do not know what the future of BidVille is, but then noone knows anyone's future. I could be run over by a truck, tonight! Lighten up! Life is short!

Yahoo! was also an inventory warehouse.
I wonder what will happen when the alternative auction sites have vanished because of a lack of revenue and earnings, and there are no choices.
Or are the inventory warehousers counting on yet another site stepping in and repeating a failed business plan.

Yep, and I enjoyed a great success, there! Hope to enjoy that with BidVille but do not expect miracles overnight.

dimview,
The history of your posts has been to provide information - usually statistical and factual. I enjoyed those. It's a shame you recently switched your M.O. to opinionated anti-free-site rhetoric based on numbers that cannot even be validated.

Ummmmm, if you actually read the posts you would have seen that I provided the information obtained from the auctionsite and then the specific steps to derive the ratio in question.
So in what way can they not be validated?
As for the assertion that there's anti-free-site rhetoric, I would suggest that a more accurate description would be anti-inventory-warehousing-on-the-free-auction-sites rhetoric.
It would really be nice to see one step up to the plate and cut the inventory warehousers off at the knees and get on with developing an auctionsite with a meaningful sell-through rate.

Your a smart guy, why don't you do take on this task and leave the negative thoughts off. You have started reminding me of AG2. I take your cutting the warehousers off at the knees to be a personal statement and invite you to try. You have no idea what you would be up against!

Its not a personal statement at all. I perceive that inventory warehousers are adversely impacting my auctions as a seller by flooding the free auction sites with hundreds of thousands of items that have little prospect of selling and thereby deterring buyers from browsing.
Like someone said, Today enjoy the day. Tomorrow do the same thing.

collectstocks2,
Although you're correct that there's no need to defend myself, I really enjoy these ongoing exchanges because now we've all learned that the inventory warehousers don't care one bit about the success or failure of Bidville. If it fails they'll just move to another free site and begin the dumping process all over again.
I'll certainly continue reporting the results of my ratio calcuations with the numbers to be found at the auctionsites.
Next one will probably be the critical review of the $1-SALE.

What I do, how much I sell, how often I relist, etc... is self-serving. I hope to sell alot and make extra dollars. BidVille will create its own success or not.
