I just want to see Bilbo in saabsister's mirror.

One of my cats hit 24 lbs. Another was 18, and not fat.

Guess my Kitty is petite, she only weighs eight pounds. She has really short legs and my ex calls her height challenged.

About a month ago my sons friend lost her cat. The Humane Society found it and when they weighed him he was 32 pounds. He disappeared again so the owner contacted them but he wasn't there. The Humane Society said they would also contact the Game Warden because the cat is so big they didn't want anyone to think he was a Bobcat and get shot or something. Sad but she hasn't found him this time.

Back in the 60's I had an Ocolet for a few weeks. It weighed in the mid 30 pound range, and it's tail was as long as it's body. The only trouble was it liked to jump up on your shoulder but sometimes you did not see it coming and it would knock you off balance.
That was never any problem for the cat as he just casually hung on with his claws if you staggered too much. My t-shirts were in bloody shreds.
He also thought it was nice to give the inside of your ear a cleaning with a tongue that resembled a power router with a carbide rasp. When he was through he would give your ear little love bites for fun. It would have been altogether better if he had been LESS affectionate and playful.
a few weeks were all the drapes and furniture could take before he was found a new home. He tried to climb the drapes but would just pull them off the wall. The couch looked like it had been attacked with razor knives before he was gone. My Aunt still holds that one against me.

Meya I am of course revisiting this thread as it is about cats, but when I looked at your shot I was reminded of when we had four kitties, I was heading into the family room and each had found a place on the floor....to the point where if one moved a mis step could have been catastrophic...my husband was just behind me when I hesitated and he looked over my shoulder and exclaimed, "So, this is what they mean by kitty litter! Somewhere I have a photo he took of me with 3 cats on my body as I was seated on the couch and the 4th was trying to figure out if there was a space for her! Love catzzzz!!

Sweetie gets a lot of exercise,

and we hold her prisoner in the shreader box for hours on end.

She only weighs 4 pounds. But she has 6 toes (and claws) on one foot. That's something, huh?

Can Bilbo hang by his sixth toe from the dish towel drawer. ROFL. I bet NOT!

OH, GOOD NIGHT!

My sweet innocent dogs were in here and saw that Bilbo creature! It's nightmares AGAIN!

They weigh 9 lb 4oz, and 15 +/- lbs.

A Cat lives here and they developed a serious medical problem within 24 hours of moving in here;

They go totally blind when The Cat enters the room. Cats in the yard send them into barking fits quite terrifing, ferocious and convincing. But this (declawed) Cat sends out Cat germs that disable their eyes, otherwise they'd be glad to show her the door.

No, Bilbo is not a polydact. I use to have an orange polydact w/ the extra on all four feet, which is extremely rare. His name was Darby O'Gill since he could consider himself lucky cause I adopted him from the pound and saved him from being euthanized and a polydact is susperstitiously lucky.

Anyhow, back to Bilbo... actually he could have done it in his younger days, except for the fact that I hate cats on counters/tables/etc (I find it highly unsanitary ~ think dinning and kitchen areas) so I encouraged them to think otherwise as kittens. Since most of those types of drawers are in the kitchen the cats would never even consider it.

My husband and I have never had cats, we have two toy poodles, but I must say I've never seen prettier, more adorable cats than I've seen on this thread. Any of them would be more than welcome in my home. Thanks for sharing your pictures and stories.

Hello... Thank goodness I found this message stream, as I am urgently trying to calm down from the lastest system SNAFU, tonight.

My baby is just under 38 pounds. He is 75% asian snow leopard and was a breed anomily from an F1 breeder. He is more like a canine, than feline, as he follows me around all day, and is my constant companion. I can not to a thing without him being there, he even gets in the shower with me, and just loves the water. I got him a baby pool this summer and he would play in it all day, if I would let him. He loves to play catch, and is a fetching fool. If anyone can tell me how to leave his picture here, I would love to. Thanks for listening, I'm much calmer now.............

Barry, wasnt it you that got a new cat and posted in here that you werent sure what to do because it was under a cabinet and wouldnt come out? Was that Hobbes? LOL! He kinda grew, didnt he? No worries about getting him out of his hidey hole mode anymore, eh? That is, if that was you. Its been some time, and although my memory is pretty good, Im getting older now, ya know.

Nantique when you post "baby's" picture be sure to tell us his name. Does he have the exceptionally long tail that the snowleopard seems to have?

OK, here goes, my first picture on the message center.

Here's my little guy when he was just 1 year old (in fact at his Bday party). He kept growing, and quite a bit, until he was almost 3; he's 4 1/2 now.

OK, I admit it. I am dumber that dirt. Above is what I entered, what is my problem? Please see above what I entered for the image (without the *).

Thanks, I have never been able to get this straight. Maybe AW image server is down also.

My baby's name Sugarpuss, but when he got so big, we just now call him 'Little'. His tail is very thick and long. In fact, when he tries to run from me, or when we are playing, you can grab and hold him from getting away by his tail.

Hepburn: Actually, he was under the stove, which is very old and has about 6 inches of ground clearance.

Nope, he was huge when I got him, and he's still huge!

Rosie, my cat doesn't get on the counter or table either. She knows her life would be in extreme danger. We do tease her, however, and make her jump at our hands usually tapping on the door facing. (You can see fingers playing "spider" up there.) It was just for this photo for you guys that we used the cabinet because it was a less cluttered backdrop.

Had to say that in case you think we are gross, *roll eyes*, and now I feel silly for saying it. Was unavoidable. Maybe.

Good grief.

Thanks Joyce -

Yes, that's my baby. I'd say he got about 60% bigger, since that baby picture. Seven to eight cans of food a day, and still as lean as ever. He's gotten darker with age, and has a mottled 'blueish' overcoat, but still spotted with a cream colored belly.

nanntique - what a beauty wish I could see him in real life.

Barry - I remember when you brought him home and how worried you were that he'd never come out from under the stove. Everyone told you once he came out he would rule the house. Sounds like he does just that!

Thanks, he is a sweetheart. Hubby brought him home to me, after we had lost several cats to kidney failure. He wanted to get a little more robust animal, and found we had a Wildlife Federation registered breeder in the area. When he went to the breeder's cattery, 'Little' walked over to him and sat on his shoe, looking up at him as if to say, 'Well are you here for me?'. Brought him home that night (he was just 12 weeks old) and he jumped up in my lap and sleeped most of the evening. He has been my baby ever since. Even the breeder can not believe how big he got, since he is much bigger than his 100% wild father. He is very mild tempered, as I said before, much more like a canine that a feline. His only bad habits are: (besides his appetite) he sings for his meals [yes, I taught him to 'talk', and he has not shut up since] and is quite vocal when hungry; and his claws are quite huge & wicked, and I have the play scars to prove it. But, as he has gotten older, he has gotten even more mellow, and is really a joy to have. OF COURSE, I'm not biased in any way, lol.

nanntique,

That is a BEAUTIFUL cat!
With it's breading, I bet it's a good mouser?
My cats follow me too, and I'm convinced they are part canine. Cisco used to follow me into the shower but stopped when we moved

Nanntique he is wonderful, I wanna hug the kitty....38 lbs...does he like to sleep on the bed with you? I guess you'd need a king size to accomodate a good sprawl! So any more recent pictures like playing in his pool?

Thanks, but remember there is no such thing as an ugly cat (at least to it's Momma). I don't know about mousing, he is not allowed outside, but he is h*ll on lizzards and chameleons that get in(we live next to a lake) and we have the worlds largest 1 legged cricket population. Our shower is oblong with a seat on the far end, and he will get in with me, get all wet, then get up on the seat, and lick himself dry, while I finish my shower. lol

saabsister - TNX

zilvy - TNX, He does have his own bed that he sleeps in at night, when he is not doing guard duty in the house. During the day, he jumps up into our waterbed and lounges, and no leaks yet. Sorry, I've only got a video of him playing in his kiddie (or should I say kitty)pool.

UhOh, he must have known I was talking about him, since he is setting in the middle of the kitchen, singing for his breakfast....

Catch y'all later.

This just in...DH brought home pictures of a pretty female Maine Coon, he thinks we ought to adopt her to keep Tig company. I keep Tig company, I really don't want another indoor cat. That is all we can have because of the coyotes in the woods.

I don't have her stats, but I must say she is a pretty girl.

Love the deer in the headlights look, poor baby is in the No Kill shelter, probably scared out of her wits and this guy with the flashing "something" is coming after her!

This is Tigger in one of his famous "I am sooo precious" poses...they look like they could be related!
