This thread is becoming the definition of "non-productive thread".

I enjoy several free sites, but for Dimview to single out BidVille for it's relisting.....well, on Epier you do not even have to specify how many times, just say you want it to relist until it sells. That could be way more than 99.

LOL, would you throw the item out, in a Brick & Mortar store, if it didn't sell in a week? I would not! Would you Dimview?

"I would think that would be difficult (getting rid of the illegal stuff) since the auctionsites have little reason to rid themselves of these type listings."

That would be true of the pay-to-use sites as they would lose money if they took an active approach.

But a free site like Bidville has nothing to lose (except maybe a few hundred lopped off that big number on their home page) and everything to gain by showing some leadership.

ALL of the sites are, soon, going to have to pay a little more attention to these bad listings. The law is moving in. It's one thing to claim ignorance ("we can't police our site" but it's quite something else to ignore proof of individual sellers and listings that are clear violations of Trademark and Copyright Law. IMHO, that is no different than driving the getaway car or having knowledge of a crime and not reporting it.

If I still have one beef with Bidville, it's that their Prez absolutely refuses to deal with this. As a matter of fact, he won't even respond to complaints being made by several of his hard core cheerleaders on his own forums!

So, it may be difficult, but it's not impossible. How about it Dim ... care to take on a real issue?

Bzzzzzt. Wrong answer.

The ePier relist syndrome thread is at

Tinted eyeglasses, perhaps?

Other than selling auction features, the only other income for a free auctionsite is advertisement banner clicks. Since they have low pageviews (sales are meaningless), they need every listing they can get their hands on.

Dim,
I do not wear glasses. Okay, maybe I should have stated that you continue to bash bidville for the relisting and barely mention that epier does the same.

Nope. Mentioned. Not much "discussion" on the subject of ePier relistings though that could be because there aren't any ePier CheerLeaders.

Actually I like 321Gone. ePier is ok.

Woulden't it be nice to know the sell through rate on 321Gone?

For the one person in the world who is bothered by relistings.

Please explain why relistings are a problem and you must continue to make it an issue? I believe that every auction site has relisting capability, even Ebay. Please answer the question asked, not make a statement that skirts the issue.

I guess my simple questions are just too darn hard to answer.

Round and round and round and round and round and ...

Yup. How does an auction seller communicate with their buyers if they don't have a valid e-mail address?
