America is the leading force in world peace. By that, we offer our own citizens freedoms unknown anywhere else on earth. Scoff if you will, but that is the truth. And it is a fundamental truth that our society is based upon. We enact our own laws, not any king. We lead the world in science and technology.
As such, it is our responsibility to be the protector of smaller nations against despots, fanatical religious leaders and madmen. Too many Americans aren't willing to accept that responsibility. If the WTC disaster had happened in England or France, would we be so fired up about it? Probably not, because it happened in someone else's yard. That is why we were unprepared when attacked on our own soil.
KRS, the world is all black or white to you. War is never justified, always wrong, always about oil or some other government special interest. To support your position, you are willing to gloss over or ignore the most fundamental facts. The Taliban was evil, and they are out. They chose to live by the sword, and sponsored a vicious attack on Americans. IOW, by their own actions they forfeited their lives. It doesn't matter who pulled the trigger, be it the U.S. or some other world power.
Your characterization of the war as being against the Afghani people is ridiculous. You are willing to ignore the relief effort to help the Afghanis in order to fit this action into your rigid belief system. Truth be told, I think you hate this country so much that it brings you a measure of satisfaction to see it threatened by nuclear and biochemical weapons. I know you are a gun dealer. Perhaps you can explain how selling weapons jives with your "peace at any cost" philosophy?

How could muslims maintain a sense of direction if there was no mecca? They'd have no further reason to have a jihad party and so would simply either be absorbed in other society or be eliminated by their refusal to eat.

Okay, whatever. I'm just trying to understand how a mail-order gun dealer can purport to be a peacenik. You drone on and on about the sins of the U.S. military. Considering the amount of garbage you drag into this forum, it's not unreasonable to question your motives. It seems you can dish it out, but you can't take it.

Oh, more inept goading. You're so boring, TS, and easy. Where is my drone about the U.S. Military? Where did you dredge up the word peacenik? Where have you been told that I am a mail order gun dealer? How did the taliban "sponsor" any attack Americans? Where is it written that the U.S. is "the protector of smaller nations against despots, fanatical religious leaders and madmen"? But if we are that how can it be that "It doesn't matter who pulled the trigger, be it the U.S. or some other world power"? Name on freedom that is "unknown anywhere else on earth". Find for me a statement by me that "War is never justified, always wrong". How is it that you think "Your characterization of the war as being against the Afghani people is ridiculous", or on what planet do Taliban originate?
"If the WTC disaster had happened in England or France, would we be so fired up about it? Probably not, because it happened in someone else's yard. That is why we were unprepared when attacked on our own soil". Perhaps that silly line could be reconsumed for later ralph in some sensible order? As is it's completely nonsensicle.
Finally; "Considering the amount of garbage you drag into this forum, it's not unreasonable to question your motives. It seems you can dish it out, but you can't take it"..... I applaud your admission that what you say should be considered garbage. As you say I drag in garbage, dish it out, but cannot take garbage, or "it" back from you.
If there's a single person whom I'd last expect not to realize my motives it is you, softissue. Do you go by 'Charmin'?
