Helen,Maybe we can start a riot or something.
Boring in here. Boring all around the boards. Fridays usually are. No wonder Stocklikker and Chocolatte picked today! They knew it would be quiet.
HEY Antiquary! What did you buy for your wife? I promise not to tell! Your weather is so warm you could start tomatoes. It is unusually warm all over the country. Except here. Rainy as usual. OK. That is a small fib. Today we actually had some sun. It's been very pleasant.

Hey, maybe all the moderators left early today, so we can all be bad for a change. It looks like krs knew ahead of time with his challenge to twinsoft and the lavender water thing. If there were ANY moderators on duty, he would have been suspended. Just my opinion.....nothing more.

Hey Krafty!
You know KRS is the favorite. He wouldn't get moderated for that. Twinsoft would, after all isn't it against the CGs to sell lavendar water to old ladies? I think it is.

OT: It is dull, isn't it. I blame it on the moderation here. Sucks. We ought to find something to fight about, Helen, but without a poll to decide if that is what a majority wants, and then a poll to select a topic, and then a poll to select a time, and then a poll to select sides, it's an awfully lot of work. Anyone have any good suggestions?
OT: Robin, this is what I got her, but don't tell.
Some of the bulbs that I planted a month ago are starting to come up and some of the perennials are starting to bud out. We had a pretty good freeze a couple of weeks ago, but since then it's been mostly in the sixties and seventies and supposed to continue into next week. Strange weather.

Antiquary! That is beautiful! Your wife will love it!
You don't need another wife do you? I'll volunteer. My husband gets me things like dustbusters. No imagination. If I want something nicer I have to buy it for myself and then tell him to put it under the tree.No tree this year. Not doing Christmas. He's safe.
How about a cyber wife? What would that get me? LOL

LOL. I don't think that I can afford a cyberwife too, Rawbunzel. Especially if Jean found out. I don't want to even think about what that would cost me. The old pound of flesh most likely.
Online shopping is great, Helen. For a long time so many stores didn't have a very wide selection, or sites weren't very navigatible, but lots of stores have really gotten their sites together and well-stocked in the last couple of years. It's just so damned easy.

OMG Antiquary! Is that the Hope diamond? Don't forget....if she ever drops you, I'm always here for you, handsome.
I thought starting a riot was an excellent idea rawbunzel! I'll tip the Police off ahead of time so nobody gets killed. You call Vice and the DEA to make sure they have extra men on duty. (Ask for cute ones!) Saabsister will supply the food & popcorn. We need a sharp shooter to man the perimeter, making sure nobody gets in or out, so krs can be responsible for that end. If a moderator comes within 50 yards krs, let us know at once!!
OK, while the moderators are away, the new rules are:
YOU CAN:
Insult other posters
Swear
Pull hair, scratch, etc.
Use lots of smilies
Use asterik code
Post animal pictures with names
Lie
Manifesto
All other rules are null and void until furthur notice.

I understand. Cyber wives are very expensive to keep and they really like expensive sparkly things. That's why I want to be one! LOL
The pound of flesh is a high price to pay. Not worth it for what you'd get out of the deal! LOL
Krafty, I've decided to manifesto. You are the meanest poster I have ever had the underpriviledge to post with. I'm leaving and I'm never EVER coming back. The boards are no place for a person with my delicate sensibilities.
Good-bye.Have good lives. Hold down the fort. Have drink on me. Good-bye..............................

You are right about cyber shopping. I haven't been in a shopping mall for years.
I buy a lot of books and it is so easy and fast with Amazon.
I admire jewlery but it wouldn't go with my blue jeans. LOL!

Helen, speaking of shopping and books, do you know which bookstore in the DC area has the best selection of art books (theory and criticism, not coffeetable)? I used to shop at Franz Bader's. Has anything taken its place?

I'm afraid that a sudden hard freeze will kill some things, snowy. That happened here last year.
Goodbye, Rawbunzel. We'll miss you.
I've never gotten into buying books online, Helen. Only a few. Not really sure why; I guess because books are one of the few things that I really enjoy buying and I still have an ingrained Pavlov-like reaction to bookstores. I'm sure that I'll get over it eventually.

I used to buy a lot of good art books...theory and criticism at the Art galleries, especially the National Gallery of Art and the Corcoran Gallery of Art.

saabsister,
Also about art books....if you live near a state university you can arrange to obtain library privileges even if you are not a student. The University of Maryland, for example has an excellent art library.
In your area, the University of Virginia would be a great place to look for the type of books that you mentioned.

Thanks for the suggestions, Helen. Everytime I visit the Corcoran I blow my money on the exhibition catalogues. But the Corcoran would probably have a decent library.
