Snowyegret! Love that idea. Tags on everything! How about on read view mirrors? "Objects in the mirror do not exist" ..oh the possibilities are endless!

Antiquary, I like "Trolling for Dummies" . I would make only one suggestion. Make sure that all the subjects are anon. You know trolls do not like to be outted.
Except maybe Enchanted. But then she is the exception to most things.

I think we can have a great New Years bash here. Especially with trolls like Krafty and Choco [yes I can swim, Choco..not to worry!]

Hi Helen, A waterfront bar sounds good to me!

Hi Kraftdinner,

Maybe you should leave the writing to Antiquary. Your plot ends before it begins.
LoL!

BTW What are you thanking me for?

Kraftdinner,

Kraftdinner, I have a good sense of humor. You don't have to worry about that. But I will not be a target of ridicule and let anyone call it "jest".

Helen, I don't want to get into anything, but have I ever done that to you EVER???

Anyway, bring along your party hat and let's try to have a good time, OK?

I'm having a good time just planning the party with you all.

Party hats? who's handing out party hats? Do they make me look good? I need one.

enchanted, I don't have any party hats, but I have a big box of those Mardi Gras necklaces and coins. Maybe we can throw them to the brave party goers that will expose their boobs like they do at the Mardi Gras.

I like the Troll book idea! Might be able to sell them to people who collect troll dolls, and also to fishermen. Hah, they won't know till they get them that it's a different kind of troll.

That's a great idea chococake. Have the trolling spill over to the selling ethics as well!

I'm curious too about who will play us in the movie version enchanted. Who would you pick to play you?

oh, great question krafty!

First choice, Bride of Chucky of course, she's my alter ego. Second choice... need to think about it...

Who would you like to play yourself, KD? and what about you chococake? We could pick out actors for the people who aren't here right now, heh-heh.

That's a tough question enchanted......it would have to be somebody that's really sharp.....I'll have to think about it as well.

I think the lack of posting here is a combination of the credit card exodus, the problems with the site going down so much lately and the holidays - throw in free listing day and you've got the makings of a ghost town. That's a shame. It wasn't that long ago that I could spend an hour catching up on threads.

I have to wonder how many people are like me and peek in - see how deserted it is and move along quietly.

Yes, we need a good New Years eve party around here.

My brother wasn't very helpful with the culling and refining of ideas that I tossed his way, but we had a little fun with the subject. What I think might actually sell well today, given the current temper of the nation, would be an allegory with certain contemporary innovations and inversions. I think that I'll play around with that device a little more.

...an allegory with certain contemporary innovations and inversions...

could you give an example of what this might mean? I'm sorry but my thinking hat is just not on straight tonight. Either that or it's lack of sleep.

LOL. Well, I really wasn't expecting anyone to read it anyway. I'm flattered you asked. Generally, I'm referring to an inversion of the traditional values of the past which is the basis for allegorical symbolism, i.e., movement from a form of the material to the spiritual. A sort of contemporary Everyman or Pilgrim's Progress, if you will.

Yes, a number of difficulties that I can foresee, but worth playing around with. At least it may keep me out of trouble for a while.

I think the troll should be the hero. I would write it as a kind of Outer Limits sci-fi episode. The troll starts to suffer from stress as he can't keep the multiple personalities separate. Eventually they take over and the troll succumbs to the fictional characters he created. 'Kind of like that Steve King novel "The Dark Half." Oops, I guess that story's been done. Heh. But that is probably the approach I'd use.

What about the troll novel Antiquary??

Trolls just aren't very novel anymore, KD. Besides twinsoft already has that market wrapped up.

Oh, I liked your idea about the plastic ending, BTW. In a different sort of application, that's a concept that had occured to me.

Trolls not novel? How can you have a place like this without a troll? Oops maybe that's our problem we still don't have any!

Well, I would but I haven't discovered those profound truths yet. I'm still digging through and analyzing old posts. I know that they're here somewhere but I haven't located them yet.

I think Antiquary is trying to throw us off the scent choco. How does he know the truths he seeks are profound unless he knows something we don't? See, it's almost an oxymoron, which is something usually trolls do.......something's fishy here....
