There is no difference between Carnaby and the other free sites. Okay, one difference, the management at Carnaby made a bunch of outlandish promises about advertizing and prize giveaways. Their credibility is very low now that those promises are being ignored.

The difference, for me at least, is that people seem to be having fun at Carnaby. I don't know how long their patience will last over there before folks start getting itchy for listings and bids. I did notice that one of their new members is already starting up some of the BV type nonsense over there and I hope it stops before grabbing hold.
As far as the promises about advertising etc., I'd prefer to leave those types of decisions up to Carnaby management. However, it does look like they may be spending a little too much money on free giveaways and contests though - money that could probably be spent better promoting the site off the site ... unless, or course, money is no object to them and they have enough to do both!
In the meantime, try it out and see what happens ... it's still free and there are a lot of good people over there ...

Richhillbilly,
I'm assuming I know you from Bidville as one of its most successful sports card sellers. Am I correct? I sell there too under "ejscards" but haven't done a lot there. Trying out several sites and I do like Carnaby's "feel".

emak, I wouldn't go that far as to think I am one of the most successful sportcard dealers. But I do have to say August has been my best month. I am closing in on the $700.00 mark. I picked up a customer in May, and man does she buy. She also sells at another site. My prices probably have a lot to do with it. I sell at 25% most of the time, but I am having to start some things out higher, because I paid 25% for some of the cards. But I only sell to off set the cost of my hobby. I think I have sold about $2,000.00 worth of cards, but I have spent $3,500.00 on cards. But it is a pretty good hobby. Well, I had better quit jabbering, before I get tossed. See ya! Hillbilly

We are fully aware that no matter what we do, it will always be impossible to please everyone, no matter how hard we try.
We have taken our time to ensure that our marketplace had all the features and services to attract the quality customers that we expect to be a part of our growing community.
We are taking the same due diligence in our marketing campaign, and will let the results speak for themselves.
And just for the record, we have already started our marketing campaign, and have plans to expand it on a larger scale very soon. And the prize giveaways are happening as we speak, it's up to you whether to participate or not.
We are not asking anyone to take our word for it, just to make your own decision based on our results between now and the next quarter.
Until then, best wishes to everyone, and good luck with your endeavors.
