Rather than what *seems* better at Bidville, what would *be* better is a search engine that encompasses "title and description" so the few bidders there are can find items of interest. And searches not limited to 3,000 items too.

***sigh*** I scroll and scroll, but nary a word do I find in response to my direct questions.
A thought for the morning ...
A person makes a statement that is correct and you believe it to be correct,
a person makes a statement that is correct and you believe it to be incorrect,
a person makes a statement that is incorrect and you believe it to be incorrect,
a person makes a statement that is incorrect and you believe it to be correct ...

Excalibur131,
I could have sworn that every sentence was the same. I humbly apologize. Off to drink more coffee and get the toothpicks.

I moved them over to sellyouritem before Bidville blocked the use of sellyouritem's import tool.
I was not aware that SellYourItem.com had a import tool. Looked at their auctionsite and didn't see a mention of it. Do you have details?

dimview,
Site map, Seller Services Heading.
Link is Import an Auction from another Site.
Only sites available are ebay and yahoo. If the auction is in the database at one of those sites, it can be imported.

toollady,
Just checked. Right you are.
So that's "A" on the Excalibur List (see above):
A person makes a statement that is correct and you believe it to be correct,

Rather than what *seems* better at Bidville, what would *be* better is enforcement of the user agreement with regard to non-auction auctions, including warnings and suspensions as necessary.

And whatever you do, do NOT make a joke auction that has family members photos in it or you may have the police investigating you. This same thing has recently happened to a BV member.

Auctions (sales) are comprised of three elements: (i) offer, (ii) acceptance and (iii) consideration, and are governed by the Uniform Commercial Code and various state statutes.
There is no provision for non-auction auctions or joke auctions.
And to think, these bogus auctions are included in Bidville's weekly sell-through report.
Sheesh!
typo.

Rather than what *seems* better at Bidville, what would *be* better is for a Bidville representative to particpate in AuctionWatch discussions.
The self-appointed spokesman isn't doing all that well, having only managed to figure out how to copy-and-paste. Maybe some Cliff Notes would help.

dimvsh*t,
Are we gonna play again tonight? Good thing I'm rested up.
You know it goes. You are suspended. You can try registering again, but we'll just suspend you again. Same stuff, different day.
Everyone,
I'll be busy cleaning up the mess for a bit. If anyone sees another mess being created, please give me a holler at [email protected].

Well, dimview noticed another TOS-violating non-auction auction the other day, and this morning see that it has been removed.
Perhaps Bidville *finally* realizes that their business *is* an auctionsite.

I hope we are all doing our part, using the proper method of course, to bring these TOS violations to BVCS attention. I know I do and have seen results that show me they are listening.

I see a 'new kitten in our house' auction and promotion by a rather slow-witted BV mainliner. After the huge recent flap there over 'family auctions' with lawyer(s) apparently entering the fray you'd think BV would suspend anyone posting these types of auctions.

The first "joke" auction I saw months ago stated nothing for sale, just bid if you hate ebay. I was going to report because I feel this type gag auction detracts from a sites credibility, besides being very unprofessional and against the rules. When I clicked the bid history not only did I see the ID's of BV's biggest supporters but also the Prez himself. That type endorsement indicated to me not to waste any time complaining.
There has been a long string of non auctions allowed such as buy my husband, look at my puppy, here's my new car etc. besides dozens & dozens of clique member family photos "on auction". Perhaps I will spend some time reporting them today and see if the site really is cleaning up.

One 'grandkids not for sale' auction got a visit from a district attorney from it's seller because another member thought it was real somehow. Talk about unstable auction users. BV may get some unwanted publicity if this stuff hits the national wire someday as the harassed seller is suing the harasser.

1st "Juggheadd" I did not make that statement Dimview did. 2nd I dont have a web site. 3rd Jim and me are friends not the same person. So you are wrong all the way around Duh.
As far as people putting up their pictures I did and so did many others so to take one bidville member and call her names is dirty but along the lines of some of the members here that dont have nothing better to do then run down someone "Makes you look real smart Duh". I think it is funny I was under the impression you were not suppost to talk about things that are going on other auction boards. But I guess that depends on who you are at AW. So attack away auctionwatch dont mind as long as you have a ID they like. Talk about breaking TOS dont worry about Bidville boards take a closer look at AW TOS. Have a nice buying/selling day.

Everyone,
Okay, that's enough. If you (all of you) cannot refrain from discussing individuals rather than the subject, I will lock this thread.
Please keep the CGs in mind as you post. Thanks for your cooperation.

Personally I find nothing wrong with the gag auctions. Actually it was my idea in the first place to show photos of one another. I had spoke to these people on the boards for months. It was a way to bond the friendship a little deeper. I see nothing wrong with it. Actually it was quite successful. Auctioning can become a very boring job or hobby whichever. And Bidville isn't exactly swamped with the volume of bidders as your larger sites, so why can't a few people have a little fun once in awhile? Hey! when I don't approve of something I am one of the first to voice my opinion. I have many enemies and I love it. But I have boo koo friends also. But just to sit for a past time and have bitterness for a place isn't exactly normal. I guess you might say I am a Bidville Cheerleader for the most part. But I have thrown a few eggs their way. But if I feel I am in the wrong I do have enough mentality to go apologize to whoever. As far as the auction that was bashing E-Bay where the PREZ threw in a bid. I would say that it was all in fun. You don't think the Big Boy's has ever irritated anybody? They sure have and I happen to be one of them. If Bidville would go belly up tomorrow, I would start my own auction site before I would ever go back to the Big Boy's, and that is an understatement. Well Moderator this thread I believe has served it's purpose. If you want to lock her up. Bolt the doors. It's in your arena. Thanks, Hillbilly
