blairwitch ... that's exactly the point I am trying to make. If the collective Yahoo management had even half a brain to share between them, you would think that at least one of them would let the world know.

This is probably how it went down at one of their bored meetings:

Yahoo Exec 1: "Gee, we oughta put something on our site about those dreaded Canadians before they give us their personal info."

All Other Yahoo Execs ( in unison ) : "No. If we do that, they won't register, and if they don't register, we won't be able to sell their personal info to the SPAMMERS of the world. Let's keep it a big secret ..."

Yahoo blows big chunks and it is a total waste of web space.

Sorry RB but its no big secret and never has been. They took a poll and the sellers wanted it this way. I voted against it, but many sellers were taken over the coals.

I totally agree - I was never aware of the "junk" on Yahoo, in pre-2001 - and we sold tons of middle range $10-60 quality items. Then the listing fee came in, the sellers left and then the buyers and until Yahoo understands it takes longer to sell on Yahoo, and that a FVF is acceptable but not a listing fee, I don’t' see that anything will change.

So, naturally, I no longer list on Yahoo, I list strictly on eBay and one very niche auction site....

*******
Regarding restricting Yahoo to one mode of payment - forget it - I got caught in the PayDirect scam, and I wouldn't let Yahoo touch my money again...never!

****

IF everyone would just stop posting on Yahoo the management might get the idea...but alas, there is no organizing sellers.....greed drives this business, even when not posting to make a point, would accomplish more.

You know everyone has been telling Yahoo for 2 years what to do, and they weren't listening then, and I don't think rehashing all of it over and over will accomplish anything. Yahoo isn't interested in what the seller thinks. You'd think by now everyone would understand, Yahoo doesn't care about you or about their site.....it is a waste of time, breath, and energy, unless you are just in need of venting.

THere's money to be made on Yahoo Auctions, just not lots of it. I think Yahoo Auctions has turned into a low value items auction site with a poor selection of items.

It some ways Yahoo is very good for buyers as many ebay sellers seem to use the low listing fees to liquidate their unwanted stock.
