I'll put it another way for the lefties here that just don't see how the proposals they put into place play a LARGE part of why we pay more for our oil.
When kerry gets elected....it's not going to make these costs go down. Because he has no influence on them at all.
And if as reamond suggests...we dip into our reserves to save a few pennies and the time comes when we have a true emergency come about....we're going to be up a creek without a paddle. Lots of different industries will come to a screaming halt. THEN you will wish consumers had just taken to using busses, rapid transit and trains more. Just like they do in Japan. VERY few, even the upper-middle-income have a need for a car...and IF they do..NEVER two or three or four cars per family like we do here.
Conserving will help bring the prices down.
