Bidville has quanity but very little quality, and that is the biggest problem. Another problem is sellers listing used merchandise at retail price. And the third and bigggest is lack of advertising. Under the right management the site could prosper, but it looks dim.

You are just like a broken record Blairwitch. If you don't like BV, don't sell there. It's as simple as that. Otherwise, you start looking like you have another motive.

The fact of the matter is... you like BV so much that it is your hope that they will make changes to push out the smaller Seller's just like eBay does and like Yahoo unsuccessfully tried to do.

You seem to base everything on one experience... like the book you bought on eBay. Then, you run around behaving as though you are an expert. It's getting old. If you want another eBay or Yahoo, go start a site. If you don't like BV don't go there.

You are all too transparent, and not very intelligent either.

But, jim, I thought this thread was about the difference due to the traffic?

I started that auction at $1.00, it is now up to $26.25. The Ebay seller started at $9.00, and got $9.75.

Should I be remorseful because mine is doing better at Bidville than it would have at Ebay? I don't think so.

I also realize this is not true in all cases, I have many auctions that close at $1.00 too.

Jimhhow,
That is sooooo cool! Congrats to you for a very successful sale! May you have many more!

Barncards1,
This is what I have been saying....the record is broken and only plays one tune.

The theme of the thread is that if you shop at BV ( or other third tier sites ) you are going to pay much more than you would for comprable items at eBay.
You proved my point perfectly and then brag about the screwing you gave the loyal bidder.
If they're dumb enough to throw their money away you might as well screw them, right? That is how you sound with your responses.

Your argument is as ridiculous as the purpose of this thread. I don't think there was a gun pointed to anyone's head, was there?

Some people like to deal with people they have dealt with before, or those who have a consistently good track record. Some people may have more faith in a non-eBay Seller. Some may simply enjoy the easy navigation of BidVille. I do know one thing after reading this thread... I'd not Buy from you if you were offering the same item cheaper than Jim. I'd Buy from him. It has to do with credibility.

I still think the theme of this thread is jealousy.

jim,

Seriously, listen to yourself.

.........."You proved my point perfectly and then brag about the screwing you gave the loyal bidder.
If they're dumb enough to throw their money away you might as well screw them, right? That is how you sound with your responses.".............

Now I ask you as a responsible seller, what am I to do?

Perhaps I should offer it to my loyal high bidder for the price it was won at Ebay for?

Is that what YOU would do?

Ahhhhh,.... but what about the other loyal bidder who was willing to pay higher than that???

Wouldn't that be cheating them?

Unless I do like the wise Solomon suggested, and split the jar in two??

The only thing the high bidder is going to pay on my auction is 25 cents more than another person is willing to pay.

BTW, I resent your "bragging" remark. I am not bragging. Am I happy?

Yes, I would have been happy if the item drew any bids over $1.00.

Also, FOR COMPARISON, that listing cost me exactly 37-1/2 cents to feature it on the front page at Bidville. How much did the listing cost at Ebay?

Why do you think people list items to sell at auction on the internet?

The thought that I am screwing a loyal bidder bothers me, I will have to get other opinions on this.

A new book just out by jimhow "How to Use Bidville's Unique 30 Day Listing Feature to Make Money".
All sellers on BV think they are beating the system and eBay's fees by selling at low traffic BV. Most sellers are there because their items are so incredibly commonplace that they could never, ever sell their wares at eBay unless they greatly reduced their prices. I reminds me of a flea market where some sellers try to sell the same item over and over for months or years at a price that is much higher than can be attained elsewhere. Then they gloat when after 6 or 9 months of carrying it out to their flea market table that it finally sells at their price. Meanwhile, the poor flea market buyers see the same items at the same prices for months on end. The regular visitors learn to avoid the lifers with they same stale stuff. You get enough lifers at one flea market and you'll see it die from lack of buyers. That describes BV and most other third tier auctions.

And that sounds like avoiding the questions.

And ignoring the statement you made about me.

jimtaxi the problem with bidville is that quality is lacking. The site is full of common cards which can be found at any flea market in sellers nickel boxes, SMC items that you see on the informertials, books of no intrest to anyone, and common used items being listed at retail price. These are serious problems that need fixing. I check bidville amd I see nothing of any value I cant find at yard sales, and flea markets.

Blairwitch, do you copy and paste that crap off of a notepad? I swear you must have that text saved somewhere. Don't you ever get tired of singing that song?

Your posts are as bad as the items you decry.

Personally, I am tired of reading your low quality, junk, trash posts. Why don't you get a new theme?

It's my thread and I say it's all about buyers getting a better selection and price at ebay.
And that's my ruling. ( Judge Roy Bean )

LOL

Makes me think of the song It's my Party.

It's my thread and I'll whine if I want to, whine if I want to, whine if I want to. You would cry too if it happened to you.

Maybe the problem with your auctions is you spend too much time whining here at AW. What an incredible waste of time.

A lot of new Seller's probably use eBay. At least you are doing your part to teach them early... they'll get screwed at eBay by cherry picking people like you and BlairWitch, then seek an alternative site to sell their wares. No doubt, they are under the misconception that their items will sell for more on eBay. They will learn, and you will have done your part to insure BV's success.

Thank you!

If you're going to buy a new car do you go into just one dealership and lay down $25,000 for a car or do you shop around a bit?
Money may not mean much to you John Barnes but it means a lot to the average person. If shopping for bargains is bad then I'm bad and darn proud of it.
I wouldn't waste my time trying to sell on BV or Bottom Notch Auction as there are no buyers there in sufficent numbers to justify the effort.

...."If you're going to buy a new car do you go into just one dealership and lay down $25,000 for a car or do you shop around a bit?
".....

Now you have the attention of a car salesman.

Let me tell you a secret. shopping around does not save you money when looking for a new car. Being informed, and knowing what you want does.

If you know what car you want, know then that the same car, that is identical, costs the same amopunt to each dealership. One Ford dealer does not pay more than another for the same car. I have seen people come in and pick out a car, get negotiations down to a few hundred $ profit for the dealer, and shop it around for weeks. How much is their time and traveling worth to save $50 - $100? that is what the difference is in most cases.

....."I wouldn't waste my time trying to sell on BV or Bottom Notch Auction as there are no buyers there in sufficent numbers to justify the effort".....

WRONG!... the buyers are where they have always been, all over the world. The seller is the difference in whether or not they come to him/her.

When I list my stuff, I make sure my buyers know where to find me, and they come. I love them for it, and I treat them honestly.

I have no dubt that I could sell just as well, or better on Ebay, or even Yahoo, but I CHOOSE not to.

Jim there is a seller on bidville selling "bidville" t-shirts and has only sold two. With all the dregs from over there attacking us here they should be ashamed of themselves for not supporting the site that allows them to list junk for free. Well we have the final proof bidville has no plans on advertising.

I definitely think B*witch has much more class than Sketer, She may not be a smart as Sketer, but she does have more class!

Geez, Oxford sure is a walking contradiction! At the Moo, she states something to the effect that who cares which poster is who at AW...and then she is here making accusations! Funny! Barncards1 has had this id for quite some time and I do not at all think this is dreamgirl, who has her own id here! Detective you are not!
