by the way what's wrong with the look? I thought this was a different type of look. I know the webmaster of this website and he has had a lot of people like the look.

The background is too dark (no point having flags if they are barely discernible as flags), the page is too gaudy, too many flashing gifs (Hot, Welcome, Free, that annoying terrier etc etc). Too many ads slow up the page loading (I've got cable - it's not me).

Of course you know the Webmaster - it's your site. A quick domain registration check reveals that Bruce Grice is listed as the Registrant, Administrator and Billing Contactor. And even if I was too lazy to check, the fact that you've made 13 posts and all have been plugging or in defense of plugging that one particular site is a dead giveaway.

Seen it way to many times.......

Thank you for the information everyone. I checked out buyselltrades and there are only two or three items for sale??? Does this auction site advertise? Like I was saying before on Yahoo auctions. They have alot of item that are for sale. Of Course when I put my items on there no one bids. I think these new auctions sites in comparison to EBAY needs to advertise or when your looking for something in a search engine---- it comes up. So far I cant find anything better than expensive Ebay??

How bout sales figures? That's the statistic that sellers want to see.

I have to agree, buyselltrades.com is very ugly.

re:buyselltrades.com

Abuse of the drop shadow option in the graphics program, *ick*.
Do away with that and it will look much neater and cleaner.

Don't bother with bidville. Nothing but losers over there that sell worthless sports cards that drive away anyone willing to bid on anything that has value.

I just used ioffer a couple of times, and am super pleased so far. Check out how it helped me. http://www.ioffer.com/viewWantAd.do?wantAdID=16 I was totally screwed for ruining a copy of my friend’s favorite book, and tried ioffer.com. Sold a few items relatively quickly too, so traffic seems good. Worked for me.

http://www.ioffer.com

Welcome, is www.ioffer.com similar to bargain & haggle? Do users post an item they need and then sellers offer that item for sale? Fees? Seems like these setups would be easy to avoid any fees.

re: http://www.ioffer.com

Not sure if I'm replying in the right area, but let's see how this comes out right.
I’ve never used bargain and haggle, but I just took a glance at it, and you can negotiate for your price at ioffer too. At ioffer, sellers can just list items they want to sell. Buyers can buy by browsing items, or post want ads (that’s what I did for that book I was looking for). Fees are free for buyers, and free to reply or list your item for sale. Sellers only get charged once item is sold, although everything is free right now. They’re having some launch promo. Msg board makes it kind of fun too.

Don't mind me, I'm just one of the losers from Bidville that can't find anyone willing to bid on anything I'm selling.

check the URL below and you'll see for yourself.

It all depends on whether you are a seller or a lister. the site is easy to use, and there is an upcoming sales event from May 25 - June 15.

I knew we'd get a taker on that brawl after seeing caffeitalia's post!
Now where'd I put Don King's phone number for that Pay-For-View deal? He might be at his hairdressers though.

Dusting off the lawn chairs ....

What the customer service people at bidville are doing.

Pretty much speaks for the complete site.

Try general items for Bidville? ( or any other third tier site ). Read some of JimTaxi's thread on comparison shopping between ebay and BV for enlightenment.

Regarding your topic: "Looking for a Better Auction Site Than Ebay???" There is none!

I just went back recently to test Yahoo, and have found moderate activity, enough so that I'll continue to use it, IN ADDITION to my regular use of eBay, and one niche auction....BUT I am ALWAYS looking for other auctions sites which can move at least in a moderate manor.

I tried to ePier to no avail, BUT my elder son, runs about 1000+ auctions at a time on ePier, and has done fantastically, but he only trades in one item.

Right now I'm looking for a niche auction for boat and marine items. I found a few, which purport to be, but are actually not "true" sites.
