Kris- I am right down the street from them. I would love to walk over and see if there are really....um.... monkeys working there. When I worked for other people there were limits to what I would do/say....guess PPD doesn't have that problem.

My history with Paypal has been less than satisfying. For instance:
1. I would not have signed up for it to begin with if you had not allowed a customer to send me a payment I could only claim by signing up.
2. I have received one of my only 2 negs because Paypal accepted a payment sent to a non-existent account rather than tell the customer to recheck her address, as that WAS a non-existent account.
3. These two incidents have led me to believe that Paypal doesn't really care if the money gets to the seller, so long as it gets to them!
4. Same song, 142nd verse-I understood it would always be free!
5. You make those of us who did not get verified, sound like scam artists to customers who tried to send payment.
6. When I did agree to get verified, Paypal never sent their deposits to my account!
In summary, I would like to say that Paypal has turned out to be exactly what I feared when I was 'forced' to sign up for it. I have taken the Paypal logo off automatic update, and will no longer be adding it to my sales. I'd just close the account and be done with it, but the rumor is that if you do that, you may never get your money! I will leave it, and accept it if the customers wants to use it, but I will no longer use my valuable auction space to support a company I cannot trust.

I signed up because it was advertized as always free for auction sellers. I signed up with Billpoint about the same time, although I don't remember why now. Point is, I always use PayPal and have never used Billpoint because of the fees. As soon as I am forced to upgrade and pay fees, I will no longer use PayPal or promote it in any way. It's simple enough for me. I'll just go somewhere else. There are always other alternatives. Maybe I'll start accepting personal checks. The bank fees for an occasional bounced check would probably be less than what PayPal plans to charge. Anyway, I don't like being called dishonest or accused of not following the rules, but I can take it as long as the service is free. As soon as I get charged for using this free service, PayPal can take it and shove it .
