Personally, I don't like patriotic or political films with exception of The Patriot and that's only because I adore Mel Gibson! I didn't see F 9/11 or the republican's film to combat it. I have my own political views and beliefs and don't need to spend money to see someone else's. I prefer to read.
I did see The Grudge. I didn't think it was the least bit frightening. After you've sat through the Friday the 13th and Halloween movies, that one seemed mild in comparison. A bit off topic but, who in their right mind actually looks into dark closets after they hear a noise or goes to investigate in complete darkness like the girl in the beginning of The Grudge? If I hear a banging or a scratching somewhere in the middle of the night, I don't go investigating. That's what I have Ken for, LOL!
I also saw the Village and did see a political/social statement in that one.

Greenspan last month said there was no crisis. I will believe him more than I believe Bush. Linda there is a big difference between a crisis and a problem.
Maybe Michael Moore's next film will be truth about Bush's agenda to wipe out social security.
Do you believe the US isn't facing any threats from the terrorists?
I did not say that. I said the Bush administration is using terrorism to strike fear into the American people. How many terror reports have they issued? Of those how many gave any specific details. This administration just likes to run around like chicken little...the sky is falling. You better let me (Bush) protect you from all the evil in the world.
This President has NEVER said anything negative about homosexuals. He just doesn't believe that gay marriage should be allowed....unless the states decide to make it happen. And, they're not doing so....they're going in the opposite direction, as you well know.
Not all states Linda...
And to you use your reasoning, if Bush is not out their cheerleading for gay rights, he must be against it He does not have to use negative words to show how much he really "supports" gay rights.
Absolute faith has been shown, consistently, to breed intolerance. And intolerance, history teaches us, again and again, begets violence.

I loved the Patriot, first because of Mel Gibson, but the movie was great also
I remember watching the entire mini series
North and South, that was great, I remembered it (late 80's I think) and have them all on DVD
Saving Private Ryan was good, probably can think of more
But, I GOT TO BABYSIT LAST NIGHT! I got to be the very first to do this! It was soooo nice to have a baby around, she was SO good too! (Sorry I know OT, couldn't help it! )

Stop, that's an urban legend instigated by pro-vegetarianism propaganda. It's just physically impossible.
But you make a good point. A few years ago, everyone was interested in Sci-Fi flicks - so what? Americans are big on polls and spend millions to find out what others are thinking, so they can.... what??

Near-another good mini-series was "The Blue and The Grey"

Greenspan last month said there was no crisis. I will believe him more than I believe Bush.
Yes, but he ALSO said we need to DEAL with it now...and take it slowly because a big part of the 'baby boomers' start retiring in 2008. Do you propose we wait three more years? Will it really make a different...or will it just put us more behind the 8 ball. We need to do something within the next year....and I, believe we will.
But please note logan - that CLINTON was the FIRST one [between the two] who used the word 'CRISIS'. So...obviously you don't believe him either then.
Maybe Michael Moore's next film will be truth about Bush's agenda to wipe out social security. That is the dumbest statement you've made yet. yea...right....lets let MM, the fat liberal propoganda film maker set our Nation policy rather than all the learned economists in our society. Typical dem thinking....just not thinking at all.
I said the Bush administration is using terrorism to strike fear into the American people.
Well....continue with your head in the sand, pretending there are no threats, just as the clinton administration did....until the threat could no longer be denied....and we suffered the consequences of 'not seeing the real danger' when 9-11 happened.
That's exactly the same mind think that led voters to re-elect THIS President. They can see HE deals in reality....not 'let's pretend there's no threat'.
---\\
On gay marriage, kerry didn't support gay marriage either. Although heaven only knows exactly WHAT he DID support....he appeared to support all sides of every issue.
But it's the STATES and voters that have spoken out against gay marriage....in a HUGE way. No denying those FACTS.

Well, BUSH spent the first 6 months of his administration IGNORING daily memos about Osama Bin Laden....he did NOTHING ON HIS WATCH.
He was too busy golfing(46% of his first 6 months he spent on vacation).
Then it says, ""But please note logan - that CLINTON was the FIRST one [between the two] who used the word 'CRISIS'. So...obviously you don't believe him either then. """
It must LIKE Clinton if he says the same thing bush does! OOOps ! being logical will scare it away!

Yea, it's the same 'crisis' the clinton administration thought we faced with Iraqi womd too. All in his administration just KNEW they had womd. But now this President lied.
clinton called SS a crisis...but now this President does the same....and there's no crisis.
What the dem said was truth...but when this President says the EXACT same thing....he's lying....at least according to the 'flip-fopping' democratic party.

Think about it Linda, if there really was a crisis 10 years ago when Clinton was president, Clinton would have done something before he left office. If there really was this crisis, Bush would have done something when he first got elected into office. If there really was this crisis Bush would have made it a campaign issue during his re-election, but he didn't.
In other words there was no crisis because it did not exist.
Once again there is a difference between a crisis and a problem. A crisis needs immediate attention while a problem can be dealt with over time.
