Sorry Boldergirl but nothing here comes close to the personal insults being slung around in the BidBay singles chat. No wonder they shut it down .. what an embarrasment for a site to have that in plain view!
Also, read the financial statements and related notes ... then we can talk about the money 'George' is so generously giving away!
I have a memory like a steel trap .. unfortunately it's rusted shut!

Tuition44years~~I have to agree with you totally! The singles chat at Bidbay was alot worse than a discussion of an auction site and their SEC filings. I haven't noticed anyone on this thread or in this forum posting the kind of mudslinging that was to be found on the Bidbay singles~~it was unreal! I do think they made a wise choice to end that forum over there!!!

Denephew .. Did you see the last (I think) thread in there.. Hi, I'm Lamchop?
Two users (who post in here sanctimoniously calling people trolls) just tore someone else to shreads .. and it was about her personal appearance mostly! Made me sick .. and people say children are cruel to each other!?!? There is something MUCH lower than your average troll as evidenced by that thread.
I'd like to know why I'M a troll when I've never posted anything but my opinion (stated as such) or facts about things that are public knowledge.
Am I only allowed to post here if I say "Oooh! BidBay Rules! It's THE best!"
I have a memory like a steel trap .. unfortunately it's rusted shut!

It appears you missed the edits the author of that thread did Tuition, check it and you will find abuse done with the edit button the next day after the thread was started, remember what comes around goes around!

The Lampchop one was started on the 29th .. the other one I think you're talking about(?) The Truth about XXXX, was started on the 30th. I saw the second one first and made a post about what I thought of it. THEN I saw the first one and could not believe it!!
It may have been edited by the person who started it, but did it EVER occur to the other 2 people posting in that thread to edit out their posts as well? If I ever stooped as low as one poster in there did, I'd be editing as fast as I could out of pure shame!

Check the edits on the Lampchop one and you will find that it was edited on the 30th almost 24 hours after it was started. And while your at it check some of the other threads in there also and you will find edits on the 30th with a different ID. The Lampchop thread was created to harass by a sock puppet who abuses the edit button.
Some don't abuse the edit button and believe it should be done away with.
Why is this? Because of exactly what you experienced!

Well boldersgirl.
I am not sticking a knife in George's back. I have spoken to the man and told him what I think of his business on the phone.
I have told him that he needs to get his contests in line because as they stand now they are illegal. Their eligibility requirements are vague at best, no odds of winning stated for their random drawing (which consists of people throwing darts at names on walls), employees/agents of BidBay have participated and won the contests, nothing stated in their rules about taxes the list goes on.
How about their charity auctions? The ones where people put up raffles for an item that the charity only sees 50% of. These are "raffles" held by every day users, not the charity organizations themselves. BidBay is incorporated in Nevada. I wonder what the Nevada Gaming or Gambling Commission (I honestly don't know their name)would think about that...or their Sports Pools for that fact.
I know I'm gonna get flamed hard now from some diehard BidBayers, but the simple fact is it is these murky areas BidBay keeps attempting to wade through that have concerned me.
It is things like this among others that have created integrity issues that have been spoken about here, and elsewhere in the online auction community.
I have been very upfront about my feelings regarding BidBay to George, however not everyone over there can say that about themselves. Usually because they are waiting for yet another crumb to fall from George's plate. Crumbs like digital cameras, printers, corvettes, diamond rings, cash money.
I always thought it so funny when the boards would get really wild, and people would start questioning George he would jump on the board and announce yet another contest...and lo and behold it would work. The community would shut up. The were placated...lol.
As far as coming back to BidBay. I haven't listed there in months. I attempted to work within the system trying to get things changed but that didn't work. I still have the bogus bucks to spend and plan on spending them when I find something decent to purchase in the bogus bucks category.
I'm sorry so many BidBayers can't seem to see the writing on the wall.
If people want to continue to deal with a company who's "fund raiser" has a permanent injunction against him for "fraudulent telemarketing of investments in FCC paging licenses." And is currently a defendant in a suit against him in Pennsylvania for attempting to sell BidBay stock there.
Then that is their choice.
But if you have been online for any length of time over the last couple of years you will know that the good old days of investors throwing VC out right and left for all of these start ups is over.
Investors are going to be scared off by a number of things in that filing.
And all it's going to take is an investigation from an AG in any state regarding BidBay's contests, or by the FTC and that will be the nail in the coffin.

All I did was post a link to the filing with this simple little statement.

Don't you mean 'fly' you down there?
Bidbay bucks are NOT free as I understand it. One sells items to get them. Correct??? Hey aren't you the one Mr. F that they said got the 10K for doing some Private Eye work for GT?

I am a bidbay user and not under this name. I will not divulge my bb username for fear of retaliation as I have seen TRUE bashing over there. I DID just join here today for the purpose of posting, so if that makes me a troll, then so be it.
I find it very disturbing that there seems to be so much secrecy at Bidbay. Why do they not want people to know or discuss what is a matter of public record? What are they trying to hide? I am really confused and I am also going to re think my involvement with them as something about the entire thing just raises a red flag to me. It appears to me to show a great lack of professionalism to send the bidbay defenders over here, insult people and then meet back at their board and laugh about it. <shaking my head here>

Can somebody please post the link to the bidbay sec filing here? I saw it the other day and cant find it again.
The whole thing is pretty humorous. Bidbay is a joke in itself. I have been watching all that has transpired over the past several months and I must say these people are absurd. Bidbay trying to go public with a rouge CEO running a failed company with a criminal history, trying to act like a mob boss, and a bounty hunter, would make for a great news story. Has anyone contacted the media yet? CNN, Cnet, or any others.
Thank you Bidbay for such quality entertainment.

Well since you avoided my question regarding my statement...I will repost it.
What about that statement was wrong?
Now regarding reading filings...no it is not the first one I have ever read.
But if you take into account this filing, and the problems that have plagued BidBay financially, legally, and ethically or have plagued those involved with the company and throw in our presently volatile economy, mix in a little dot com craze that has turned into dot com death and I think you can add up BidBay's chances of success.
BidBay is hoping that investors will bypass all that information by being blasted with BidBay's membership numbers...which they claim is at present 4 million. And by BidBay's listing numbers...which if anyone with a little common sense was to peruse would realize that a majority of those items represent sportscards.
And I'm not speaking of sportscards that you would find listed anywhere else that collectors are actively looking for. But sportscards that have been thrown up with a bit of information no picture and the price....a whopping $.02-$.25. And we both know that the majority are in the nickel range.
Some BidBay listing numbers:
Under$1.00 Category.
Recipes: 62,938 auctions currently running
Sports Cards: 9114
Beanie Cards: 5,591
General (which you will find more of these items): 46,041
BidBay Buck Category:
Recipes: 86,674
sports cards: 2,098
General (which you will find more of these items): 13,144
Trading Cards Category:
Entire category has 29,471 items.
Most there are valued higher than a nickel. But still in the $.25 range.
And the list goes on.
I just wonder if they use BidBay Bucks in their numbers on the front page when it comes to announcing dollar amount of bids made etc.
