Not really. Some things are spun from pure imagination and have no basis in reality whatsoever! Witness some horror fiction.
profe, I knew a girl from ebay in Nebraska,(I think)...that raised goats. Now is she selling goat-milk based soap. Supposed to be some good natural stuff, although I cant say I have tried it. - Maybe you'll look into that too?
Maggie, I probably wont read the book because of all the hype. It kind of strips the curiosity out of it for me. I'll wait for the movie.,.which they'll probably butcher-up anyway, lol!

Wrong dbl, when you say, "Not really. Some things are spun from pure imagination and have no basis in reality whatsoever! Witness some horror fiction."
The imagination comes from a human who lives on earth in reality . Even horror fiction, even science fiction, fantasy, all come from a human and starts in their reality.

::They just amaze me!::
You should amaze yourself with the amount of crap you post here.
"All fiction is based on reality."
.....then this,
"the imagination comes from a human who lives on earth in reality."
oh please!! - Do you happen by chance to know the difference between imagination and reality?
I dont think you even do. What a crock of crowdroppings!!!!!!!
posted on March 17, 2005 05:34:09 PM newfiset - I have already stated this but feel I need to do so again. Are you real familiar with Catholic history?
Thats too vague a question for me to answer intelligently. I am familiar with some Catholic history but certainly not all. I am not a religous scholar and do not spend large amounts of time studying Catholicism (or any other religion for that matter).
did you not notice the 'twist' for lack of a better word on the supposedly historical facts that DB presented as facts in his book?
Its a little difficult to talk about "facts" when we're discussing a work of fiction. Brown certainly interpeted various historical events that are not in line with the Catholic church "party line" (for lack of a better phrase) but at no time was the book presented as a work of non-fiction.
Could that be why you took/take them to be historical facts, when others claim they aren't correct 'facts' at all?
Actually, I've gone back through my posts in this thread and at no time did I refer to Brown's book as containing "facts." The words I used were "ideas" and "theories." I think its clear that he bases his interpretations on historical documentation but in the end, its just his interpretation. Personally, I do not rely on fiction writers as a source for factual data but recognize that there are many interpretations of historical events.

dbl, I can certainly see your frustration at having to think about a new idea but just because you don't understand it doesn't mean that what I type is "cowdroppings".
It is a deep thought so maybe you should find an easier thread. Try the "Lighten Up" thread....it's just silliness.....up your alley.

Double, I know it's fun to argue with Crowfarm, but I have to agree with her. Imagination is based on reality. Can you give an example of something that's not?

The only deepness in your contrived and bamboozled posts is how deep you sit in it.
The imagination comes from a human who lives on earth in reality .......
hahahahahahaha!!! Not quite, Ignots. That is an inaccurate statment meaning all fiction is based on some truth. And you know it. Has nothing to do with whose mind it starts in that makes it a reality. Is that what you told them when they let you out of the mental hospital?
But keep trying. I see your reality now is wanting to come off like a practicing zen master, huh?
posted on March 17, 2005 08:31:43 PM newlinduh!!! Quick get over to the lighten up thread. There are people who have started to believe in leprechauns!
We need someone to PROVE they don't exist...HURRY.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think you might find there are one or two trolls over there as well.
Seriously though, I think I might read Da Vinci Code. I think it was Maggie that said it's full of puzzles and I like puzzles. I do have a problem reading fiction unless it is based on fact so from i've read in this thread about the book, it shouldn't be a problem.
