What a great vision seeing both past Presidents, Bush and Clinton begging for Donation for Tsunami Relief. Over a Billion dollars, that’s a lot of money. What a disheartening image seeing sum bags with Bin Ladin t-shirts grabbing the supplies from the landing American helicopters.
Growing up I was always taught, “Charity begins at home.”
I still believe this.
Can You imagine what it would be like if Clinton and George Sr. went on a relief tour for the food banks and Shelters that are right here in the good ole U.S. of A.?
I’ve been giving the monies I earn off café press to a local Shelter here in Saratoga County NY. It’s not much but hopefully with the help of others it will make my area a better place. Get someone back on their feet, back into working society.
I’m not saying I don’t give a damn about the victims of the Tsunami. That wouldn’t be true. I’m tired of seeing out charitable contributions going outside the country.
Gas and home heating prices have skyrocketed this year. I know my pay hasn’t met the rising cost of living but on the other hand the minimum wage has gone up... This makes me even poorer. I wonder if maybe the Arab Emirate or OPEC could send me a charitable contribution. I think NOT.
I agree, charity begins at home. Delighted to see another person who also is 'doing what they can' for others. It does make a difference although at times it doesn't appear to be doing much when compared to those able to get large sums of funding together.
Take care of yourself...hope to see you around more.

Glad to see you here Linda. Hope all is well with you and yours.
Classic,
I vaugely remember a Roadkill Cafe here several years ago. Never went to it...must not have had beer, I don't believe it's still here. I'll check Tomorrow. I'll be up the road for Cornbeef and cabage.
Amen.
