I must be pretty darn dense, for I have never been able to pick up a particular syntax, etc. of any particular poster.

And, this from someone who, for the most part, sits back and watches it all!!

Maybe, because I just read what is posted, reply if in the mood, and move on. And archive!! Even if I had the time, I wouldn't have the inclination.

(After thought: There is one poster who likes to play games with other IDs, but he's soooo obvious.)

Only once, in the EO, long ago, did I pick up on a poster using another ID in a thread. I called them on it, in that thread. No vague accusations.

If an individual has a problem with another poster, then that individual has the responsilibity to approach that poster, via PM or e-mail. To start a thread and cast suspicion on all of the posters on a chat board, is not only unfair, but immature.

I can't even find the right word at the moment to use for a poster who makes accusations and then doesn't stay around to back up those accusations. Again, immature comes to mind, but I do hate to be redundant.

Pareau

I have read the opening post several times. Initially, I thought you might be the subject, but now I think another is the subject. (I don't have a specific other in mind.)

And, for anyone who thinks I might be the subject , I can assure you, I am not clever enough to be anyone but...

Well said, HCQ & Mybiddness!

The last time we had a thread that started with an accusation like this, it turned out that the originator's idea of "harrassment" was incredibly exaggeratted. But before that was revealed, others here at AW had stirred themselves into a frenzy, dividing into camps, etc.

I have to say, that the first person who came to mind after reading that first post *was* Pareau--simply because he/she is the only one in recent memory who has made the statement about not posting on the other boards. Come to think of it, LOL used almost the same wording that Pareau did when he/she originally said it. For some to chide Pareau for coming to the same conclusion is ridiculous.

Enough is enough!

LadyofLake: if you have a specific complaint, make it without beating around the bush. What "harrassment" have you actually undergone? Does this complaint even have anything to do with AW?

LadyofLake is not sitting back enjoying fireworks. She is out of town and away from her computer.

This thread should be locked. This is not unlike discussing an auction without the seller present. When she returns, if she wants to reopen the issue, or even come back to posting here, she can deal with that through the PTB.

Sorry, Kris.

Lady chose to open this can of worms and then walk away.

The right thing to do would have been to go on vacation, give this some thought, and deal with it upon return.

I don't remember reading anything on this thread about her being out of town. Shouldn't she have mentioned that here? Or, did I miss something?

femme - perhaps you are right. But sometimes, human failings intervene. When some people get hurt, or angry, they lash out without going through the logical steps. I've done it. Doesn't make it right, but it is a part of being human.

mybiddness - I had contact with her yesterday before she left.

Precisely on the money, femme. Unless her "vacation" was entirely spontaneous, LoL posted KNOWING she wouldn't be around, then turned her back on this thread. I would not be surprised if that was exactly her intent. When she comes back, she can claim victim status all over again, complaining that people have been talking behind her back! Nice way to double your money.

I think "juvenile" is way too generous an adjective. Mercenary, underhanded, manipulative and passive-aggressive far more accurately describe this sort of behavior.

Maddienicks: LOL must have *known* that her posts would generate "conversation."

Mybiddness: No, LOL never mentioned that--not here at AW, anyway. This tidbit of information gets my "hmmmm" antenna quivering. She put the cat in the pigeons just before going out of town?!?

HCQ: Careful--you will be adding to the "spice" of this thread by bringing its first moderation...

So none of you have ever spoken (or posted) out of emotion, eh? Wow. What control!

I'm out of this one. Enjoy.

Does she realize that she has left us to spend the weekend mulling over who or what she was referring to? Leaving Pareau and others to defend themselves as not being the one is ludicrous.

I think she's smart enough to understand that that would be the result of her post and am frankly surprized that she would do that.

It may very well be a good idea to lock this thread and to forget it even exist until she decides to clarify her "in the wind" accusations.

But Kris,

This may be the biggest femme catfight on the net.

I appreciate it if everyone would stop using the abbreviation LOL to refer to Donna. It's confusing since a user named LOL on GB may have been the cause of Donna losing her temper in the first place.

krs - yeah. And we haven't had a doozy for a while. I'll stay in the cheap seats, I think.

Pareau,

I'm glad you found something to smile about in my response to you! I would refute that a casual mention of my impending attendance at a morning prayer service constitutes a "parade of piety," but I'm pleased that it brings you joy to find something in my religious devotion of which to make sport.

My archives didn't fail me, Pareau...my interest did. As I said, I don't read many of your posts, and so I'm neither informed nor interested in your posting preferences as to either boards or companions. It's unlikely that I would develop such an interest or spend time in your errand, on your command, regardless of your relentless flattery.

You know, that's a wonderful idea about installing a computer and cellphone at the parish...I wonder if the priest would mind if I used one of the confessional booths, since they're so cozy?

Everyone,

Several comments have been made in this thread that are quite close to the line. Please keep the CGs in mind as you post.

Nothing will be gained by continuing this discussion at this time, and I'm going to lock it up. If LadyOfLake returns and wishes to rejoin the discussion, it is possible the thread can be reopened at that time.
