I've found something today that may be of interest to others.
If, like me, you have a camera with a fixed automatic flash, it can be a real hassle getting a good photo. Too far away and the subject is dull, too close and the subject "washes out" or reflects too much glare!
In good sunlight all is usually well but all too often if you use any other type of light it causes unacceptable colour casts to the object that you are photographing.
Today I bought a second hand movie light for a home movie camera. It gives a really bright light similar to natural sunlight. I can set it up on a tripod and just plug it into the mains. The results are perfect! No more waiting for sunny days. I can now photograph on any day and at any time, day or night and the colour rendition is spot on!
This lamp cost me $15.00 at a thrift store. I have checked the auction listings and they can be picked up on line for about the same price.
If getting the right light is a problem with your camera give this a try. It could make your photo sessions enjoyable and hassle free!

I know it's late and I'm tired. But could you give me and everyone else a hint (or exact directions ) as to where to find them? Thanks Bob!
