Libra says, "Unemployment has always been around 5% and tell me how Bush is at fault for that. Nafta was signed during the Clinton Administration""

During the Clinton administration:

Unemployment is the Lowest in Over Three Decades. Unemployment is down from 7.5 percent in 1992 to

3.9 percent

in September, the lowest in more than three decades. The unemployment rate has fallen for seven years in a row, and has remained below 5 percent for 37 months in a row -- over three full years. Unemployment for African-Americans fell to the lowest level ever recorded, and for Hispanics it remains at historic lows. [Bureau of Labor Statistics]

The Bush Record: Industry Runs Roughshod Over Environment
Drill everywhere! Foul the oceans! Pollute the skies! That's great if you're Big Business, but lousy if you're anybody else. Bush's policies are undoing decades of environmental protection and leaving a dirty world for our children and children's children to inherit. For the environment, a change in the White House would be a breath of fresh air.

Bush Is Pro-Dirty Air
President Bush has weakened the Clean Air Act at every turn. The "New Source Review" regulation of the Clear Air Act forced older coal-fired power plants and other facilities to install pollution controls when they expand or are repaired. But under President Bush, the New Source regulations have been significantly weakened, allowing power plants to more pollution into the air. Statistics released by the Clean Air Task Force noted that the 51 power plants subject to New Source Review enforcement helped to cause the premature deaths of 5,500 to 9,000 people each year, many from respiratory diseases.1

Under Bush, You Pay for Cleanup
Corporate polluters used to pay to clean their own messes. Now Bush is shifting the costs to you. The Superfund program was created to ensure that corporate polluters bore the brunt of the costs of cleaning up the worst environmental disasters. But under President Bush, funding cuts and a failure to collect penalties from polluters is creating a shift in costs right to the taxpayer. Superfund assets have declined to nearly zero. Now your tax dollars will pay for 80 percent of the program in 2004, and all Superfund cleanups in 2005.2

Public Lands to the Highest Bidder
Bush opened 9 million acres of public land to logging. In December 2003, the Bush Administration removed prohibitions on logging and mining in the largest national forest in the U.S., the Tongass National Forest in southeastern Alaska. The decision could "allow roads to be built through 9 million acres" of Tongass. Bush has fought to allow the oil industry to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge as well as protected national parks, monuments, and public lands in the Rocky Mountains.3

Would You Like Some Mercury With That?
Bush proposed weakening mercury regulations in Clean Air Act. A proposed rule change by the Bush EPA would remove mercury emissions from Clean Air Act regulations that limit the most toxic air pollutants and shift the poison to a weaker category, despite the FDA and EPA's own recent recommendation that pregnant women and young children eat less tuna and other seafoods to avoid excessive mercury consumption. Approximately 630,000 babies are born in the United States every year to mothers who have been exposed to unsafe mercury levels.4

Crow, Libra63 is a very confused person her husband makes $24,000 a year and she has a S.S. check plus she says they pays rent. She voted for and is still supporting Bush and the republican controlled Congress. The same people that are taking away programs that most likely she and her husband will need someday soon. That's a very confused person.

Linda_K with her nasty mind set couldn't be anything else but a Bush supporter. She went from bragging about Bush to having to make feeble attempts at defending her failed leaders in just 100 days. Its very funny to watch her posts and replies now.

We all know people like Bear and Yellow. Its like their front porch light is on but no one is home. LOL

The funniest thing to watch is how they keep trying to Blame Clinton and Kerry for the problems the U.S. is facing.

Hey Crow and all other Progressive thinking democrats on this board keep up your good work. Its looking like a lot of progressive thinking Republicans are starting to see that leaders like Bush,Tom DeLay and Bill Fisk are not the answer.

Here we go again.....correcting the mis-informed. The unemployment rate right now is LOWER than it was during the same time frame during the clinton administration.

THEN we had the tech boom. clinton didn't cause, and therefore can't take credit for the tech boom - the industry caused the need for more workers....just as it wasn't his fault when the tech bubble burst. NOR was it this President's fault. Presidents don't create jobs nor are they the cause of job loss. IF they did have that power....they'd all be very sure employment stayed very high during their administrations.

He was the RIGHT man at the RIGHT time for the job. And American's agreed and re-elected him.

I do too. So very quiet and peaceful. I think I used to appreciate this time of day more when raising my family, before they'd all tumble out of bed to start their days. The 'calm before the storm' as they say.

But here...it's almost always that way. No traffic noise and only the sound of farm animals once the sun starts to rise. With my bedroom window open the birds aren't even up this early.

I've got a couple of errands to do in town today...nothing major and I love the drive as the countryside is so very green right now and so many of the spring flowers and bushes are in bloom and oh-so-colorful. Whatever you plan...I hope it's a great day for you.

Libra63 says she has "$250.000 cash." Libras63 own words are her Husband makes $24,000 a year, she has a S.S. check, she rents, and her kid went to a community college? Something doesn't add up.

My wife and I wanted to make sure our son got a good start in life so off he went to a University. His education didn't come easy my wife and I worked 7 days a week for years and were lucky enough through hard work to be able to 100% pay for his education. He has no student loans to pay off. Last December from his University he received International Business degree. Now he is taking a course to become a Certified Gemologist.

While at the University his Lacrosse Team was lucky enough to be 2 time NCAA National Champs and our son was lucky enough to become a 2 time All American in Lacrosse.

Now with his Degree along with his knowledge of the antique business (having been brought up in the antique business) and his knowledge and skills in Lacrosse he should never have to worry about a job.

This spring and summer while studying Gemology he is giving private Lacrosse lessons. His plans for his future is to have a business dealing in expensive antique jewelry.

With all the opportunities this kid worked for and was giving. He has not forgot where he came from and is still a caring compassionate young man that votes Democrat.

peepa, thats great about your son and the devotion you have shown as parents!! But what are you going to think if he becomes a really wealthy democrat and hires people to protect his assets in ways that might not be viewed so kindly?

And thats the thing I dont like about democrats, they keep giving and giving - until they themselves are almost undone. Sacrificing it all and having nothing left for yourself is not a pride of valiance in my opinion.

I honestly don't care about your son.

I hate to tell you but a University is NO better than a community college. There is more corruption in an University with overpaid or glorified teachers than there is in a technical college.

I didn't have to work 7 days a week or bust my butt but if that is what you wanted to do that is okay. It seems like you had some boring working life along with your wife. Sounds like your son had his life planned out by you and your wife. Doesn't he have a mind of his own? Doesn't sound like it. Who cares about diamonds or precious stones I really don't. They are only things. Everything you mentioned are only things. It is life and what you bring to it is the most important thing and by the sound of it you bring nothing to the table.

Linda_K, everybody knows that millions of unemployed Americans are no longer counted. Everybody knows that as many as a full 1/3 of the jobs created are filled by illegal foreign workers.

Linda_K said, "Presidents don't create jobs nor are they the cause of job loss." that is simply more BULL ROAR from you.

Sorry old girl very few people can believe your twisted words any longer.

I see you and Libra63 and a couple other misguided BUSH supporters don't like AOL polls. These polls show people don't like what your failed leaders are doing to America.

You say the AOL polls aren't scientific. Sure they are a straw poll but they also show the mood of the American people.

Again sorry old girl your lies and twisted words are becoming more and more transparent everyday.

Enjoy it while you can because the elections of 2006 is going to put a stop to your lies and twisted words and ways.

peepa - READ, LEARN something, GET INFORMED rather than repeating falsehoods over and over. You haven't a clue about so many things that go on in our government. You only have an opinion....which wasn't right when you continued repeating yourself before the 2004 elections and it's still not going to change what our country does in the 2006 elections. BECAUSE the PRESIDENT will STILL be in office and NO President creates jobs..... Corporations do. You know companies that the dems love to demean...talk about how terrible they are. THEY are the one's who create jobs, they're the ones who pay salaries so people can support themselves...NOT Presidents.

Here is a link from a gentleman whose articles are in many different news sources. Maybe HE can get through to you when others can't. Then again, I don't hold out much hope even he can get through your mind set. http://www.time.com/time/columnist/krauthammer/article/0,9565,632226,00.html.

And if you would READ the DoL website you would see just how many people aren't looking for jobs anymore - they list those numbers along with just how many ARE STILL searching. One has to want to work, actually GO OUT AND LOOK FOR WORK, before you can add them to 'those poor people who can't find jobs'. And many have decided to go into their own business. One doesn't collect unemployment for 4+ years you know.

And last....I'm tired of responding to your rude posts and won't be doing so in the future. So don't bother continuing to address me and expect me to respond to your total lack of knowledge about how our economy grows....and it's NOT by ANY President creating jobs.

And in closing....on your continuing 'anybody knows' statements....funny how you NEVER provide proof to back up your claims....it's just your AOL word-think once again.

bye peepa -

Crow, Its no big deal what Pat and I did for our kid, millions of Americans do the same thing to a greater or lesser degree. Really all my wife and I did was work hard to provide the money and my kid did the rest. My family's wants and needs is no different than 99% of other American families. I was just lucky to be born an American in a time in this country where I was able to work hard to get the job done. I believe a small minority of right wing people want to take the opportunity I had away from millions of middle and working class Americans.

I will not stand back and let people like Bush,Delay and Fisk and their sick supporters take away and sh*t on the middle and working class American. I know you won't either.

It was always fun to watch the parents and players at very rich schools were my kids Lacrosse team played and showed them how to play Lacrosse.

After a game at a Ohio prep school when both teams line up and shake hands. My kid said "nice game" to one of the nose in the air rich kids. The rich kid replied "go back to the Pittsburgh steel mills ass hole". That same kid was taken to a hospital to see if he had a concussion the next year the two teams played.
