Oooops, looks like we stepped on the nanny's "foots" when our opinions diminished the worth of her charge. Will she now lapse into baby-talk or .........What's that popping noise?
We were very fortunate to have an aggressive press during the Watergate era and during the Vietnam War. The question now is will the press work just as diligently to expose the lies and deceit of this administration.

Come on Libra - you gotta love statements like that one from fenix.
She says she in her 30's and has read some left leaning book and she just KNOWS what she's talking about. While we, all of us old enough to have actually been adults while this whole thing went down, don't have a clue about anything.
I think you are correct when you said she appears to always have to be correct. We get our 'brain cells' insulted when we don't agree with 'their/her' way of thinking.
---------------
fenix - Once again, after I already stated who, you ask:
"WHO Linda. You keep saying he could have gone to someone else but who could he have gone to?"
Be clear - TO ANYONE
to a democratic member of Congress...who would have immediately JUMPED on this.
to the PRESS....after getting a lawyer, after setting up a book deal and to ANY member of the MSM. Especially someone like ratherbiased, Dan. He would have LOVED to have broken this story.
But continuing to imply that there is no one in the world that he could have taken this info to....is simply just not true.
-----------------
And then here's helen....our board socialist speaking about nanny's. But it is funny to read....as SHE'S the one who supports our government being everyone's Nanny....not I.

Operative word here is we isnt it, Helen? Accuse me of what you do? You who set and sit to travel in twozies and threes like the bad luck you inspire and the misfortune you embrace so tirelessly? (btw, how is the cold rain in Md today, to your ole'creaky joints and knees?)
I will tho, verily agree, your opinions are ever the more diminished daily, but its not quite worth the charge you'd like to illicit from me,no,not really.
Linda, your ignorance of political ideology leads you to think that everyone with a care about social injustice and oppression is a socialist. The worthless nature of your silly pronouncements is only exceeded by your poverty of thought on every issue. Take this one, for example. Fenix has plowed you under but as always, you fail to recognize your burial. You are really gasping for air when your only defense is the fact that Fenix is thirty years old and you are over 60.

Funniest post of the Week:
linduh, "She says she in her 30's and has read some left leaning book and she just KNOWS what she's talking about. While we, all of us old enough to have actually been adults while this whole thing went down, don't have a clue about anything."
Ya, how can fenix know anything being ONLY in her thirties....well, from her posts it would suggest she knows quite a bit more than OLDER, UNREAD, UNEDUCATED posters.
Posters who think "Watergate" was just a "left-leaning" news report ???
Well, if SOME want to be as knowledgeable about Nixon and Watergate they should TRY reading War of Watergate by Stanley Kutler. It's a HISTORICAL (not political) account of what happened.
But the neocons won't...truth is too scary ............

helen - you make me laugh out loud, once again....especially when you state such NONSENSE as:
'fenix has plowed you under'.
Because I choose not to sit here and recite and pull up zillions of threads that, when this book was FIRST published, 30 years ago pointed out many discrepencies the authors wrote about. Many, at that time, said it wasn't really non-fiction...but rather should have been labeled FICTION...because parts of what were stated were TOTALLY FALSE....and other parts were based on innuendo's and more conspiracies...things stated as facts....when they weren't.
So...you take it as me being 'plowed under' but since I don't see it in that 'fogged-up glasses' YOU wear....all is right in my world.
Even to this day BOTH authors won't open up all their 'files' to prove many statements they made in that 30 years old book. Why? Would letting others research 'their' findings/statements be so harmful? No. But since they won't...then those statements offered as PROOF in their book, can't be verified.

Linda - exactly how old do I have to be to be uable to correctly relate a statement made in an interview seen four hours earlier?

LOL...nope not everyone...but yes, a couple here. YOU especially. I've never see a need that a group of people have or want the government to 'take care' of FOR them that you haven't agreed with. And you support income redistribution in order for that to happen. Everyone deserves the same...equal...no matter ...it's their 'right'.
You're the cheerleader for our government being everyone's nanny. Don't tell me I don't see your political ideology clearly...because everyone can see it whose read your posts over a period of time.

I'm not sure exactly WHICH statement you're referring to, fenix.
And to relate any recent statement has no age requirement.

Linda - If you actually read the exchange....
I related a statement made by a former assistant director of the FBI in an interview on CSPAN yesterday.
It's funny, I watched another former Assistant Director of the FBI on CSPAN (channel flippin - not a regular stop for me) and when asked what he thought his response was that Felts actions went against everything you are taught and everything that is expected of you in the FBI but at that time, in that climate there was really nothing else to do. He said that your first obligation is to the Constitution and because of the scope of corruption the only way to serve the constitution was to operate outside of official channels. He said that put in the same situation, he probably would have acted in the same manner.
Libra asked me how it was that I was able to relate that statement without having recorded the interview.
Well fenix I saw the same person and I don't know how unless you taped his interview that you can say what he said.
I stated that I am young and still abled minded and still had managed to retain enough short term memory to be able to relate something that I had heard a few hours earlier.
Because I am still in my 30's and have retained much of my short term memory.

It was sarcasm and humor Linda - sorry that I forgot to follow it up wit 272 smilies but quite frankly if that's the attitude you want to attribute to me I would appreciate it is you would please notice who has taken to personal comments in this thread and who has tried to actually address the topic at hand.

linda, This is another figment of your imagination. I could challenge you to prove that allegation but we all know that you can't back up your lies. So, with all the other rubbish that you dish out, I'm sure that you know where to cram it.

fenix - Five people can watch the same car accident and come away with different versions of what happened.
In this case, I think that Libra was saying she took what was said differently than you did. That's quite normal....no need for insults...or to imply because of your age that makes YOU better at remembering what EXACTLY was said....because it doesn't. Younger people can forget and mis-interpret things said incorrectly too.
---
Just look at helen....she's can't remember ANYTHING she's ever said here.
But what I took was that she was saying with no transcript to prove exactly what was said...then she just 'heard/saw' it differently.

Your problem linda is that I remember EVERYTHING that I have said here and have a record of every word.
The fact that you can't lie about what I say and get away with it really has your old ass in a dither. Your melt down is becoming a spectacle on a par with the circus.

LOL...no, helen, no 'melt down' on my part. Just your wild imagination running away with you again, I'd bet. Hey...I think there's a song in there somewhere.
Since you have all those FBI-like files....why don't you pull one up where we were having a discussion on ANY suggested government leglisation where you OPPOSED it. That would make this much easier.

Oh good grief LInda - we are talking about words that were spoken over the period of a 30 minute interview not something viewed at lightning spoped in 15 seconds and I think I am more than capable or remembering them.
If however you doubt my ability, please go to the CSPAN Website where you can view the interview yourself.

It's my opinion, linda that your posts and your unsupported allegations are becoming more disturbed every day. You make claims over and over, knowing that they can't be verified. fenix - My initial post had nothing to do with your disagreement with Libra...but rather that you implied a young mind would, of course, have better memory than an older one would.
I disagreed and find that to be a false statement as I have already said. Had nothing to do with who 'took' what was said correctly or not.
But the point I was making does have to do with anyone who thinks they can read a book and have more or better knowledge of the events when they weren't even born yet..or were too young to know ALL that when on. Because they're missing a ton of years of information they HAVEN'T read about.

Linda, the more lies that you deliberately tell, while knowing that you will be asked for proof, the crazier you appear. Every day in every way you are losing it. Now run along and plaster your defensive mechanisms all about, make your preposterterous claims and think that you are getting away with it.

helen - I'm curious....if you really do have all these files, on every statement you've made on every thread here for approx. 5 years ...just what purpose do they serve?
And you're tell me that with that HUGE amount of mind boggling files you've saved, you can't find ONE where you were actually against more government spending for social programs? I don't believe it for one minute.
