Poton I'm glad you got your neg, it seems that you really like to leave negs for others. If the item didn't reach enough bidders enough exposure it doesn't mean that you have to take advantage of this guy and force him to give it to you or you'll leave a neg fb, well you got what you deserve. You tried to take advantage of the situation, you want to pay only a few dollars for something that cost 100 times more. You have to learn to be fair with other sellers and not take advantage of them, sadly you had to receive 7 negs before you learned the lesson.

In defense of the buyer, it's possible they thought they were bidding at an auction. The buyers you find these days... geeze.

I am just glad to see that the vast majority of bidders and sellers disagree with POTON. Seems like everyone out there is fair, except him/her.

..sigh.....I think Im going to probably get my second ever neg, from someone who will reward me for not holding their check 10-14 days to clear, for being prompt, for being speedy in contacting them, for trying very hard to make the sale go well and for adding a "surprise" gift (like I always do)...and all because the material of the item was not rayon like I thought, but a poly blend instead. So, she emails me, says she hates poly (although the dress is VERY nice and fit perfectly and the color is wonderful) and just "what do I plan to do about YOUR MISTAKE on the description stating it was RAYON and not POLY" and then ending it with "BEFORE I NEG YOU".

I kinda lost it and said "Well, since I made an error, and assumed it was rayon since it FELT like rayon and didnt check the label since I was going on assumption, send it back for a full refund. Also, if you feel you need to leave me a NEGATIVE, to ruin something I worked VERY HARD FOR for over 2 years, and to you a NEGATIVE is what my mistake means to you, instead of prompt mailing and NOT holding a personal check for 10 days like most sellers do, showing the whole world that I am honest and love selling to customers so I try VERY hard to please everyone...if none of that makes a difference and you feel a NEGATIVE is my reward....knock yourself out."

I think the last sentence of mine probably did it, dontcha think? But sheesh, isnt feedback to let people know what kind of business person you are, if you are honest, and helpful and WANT to do right by customers by offering refunds even though the description clearly states ALL SALES FINAL (but I did make an error, so thats why I offered a refund...including the shipping)...isnt that the whole concept of feedback? If one is unhappy with a purchase at a regular store, and one takes the item back and the store gives a refund, does one stand outside and hold a posterboard stating ones unhappiness although it was rectified? Just ticks me off. Sorry. Had to rant.

PS here. 2100+ FB rating with 9 negs, which I wear like a badge of honor by the way...

I have sold items for a mere 1 cent many times! These items I may have more than a dollar cost in... not great items, but worth the bid + S&H and then some. I HAVE HONORED EVERY SINGLE ONE. I even leave my bidders + feedback on these auctions if they follow through accordingly. I usually say something like "Best one cent auction ever!", and try to contain my laughter... It's fun... I don't worry about it because I make up for it in other places. My 1 cent auctions attract many bidders who look at my other auctions, so I would consider these "loss leaders", many businesses do this... Besides, if it doesn't go for what you wanted, a reserve was necessary in the first place. I have lived and learned, and what I have learned, I have profited from.

Mauimoods-I think you have bent over backwards to say that you are truly sorry about your mistake. There is nothing more that you can do except go to her house and get the dress so she doesn't have to bother going to the post office and of course we know that will never happen. There is always one bad egg so I wouldn't fret. If she Negs you respond and say why. I am sure when people read feedbacks if there is a response they read that also at least I do. Good Luck
