I had to go to the mall today, haven't been there in months, and what do I see? Parking spots reserved for "Expectant Mothers" What is that all about? Sounds like sexual discrimination to me and just to piss people off I parked in the spot, they are not enforcable for parking.
And women wonder why men won't take them serious about equality. If she can't walk to the mall from the parking lot, she can't walk around the mall.

Ron
Have you ever tried walking any distance at all nine months pregnant? Of course you haven't. So, until you have to you really have little to say on the subject. Although, I have to agree with you somewhat. Someone who is too pregnant to walk should not be driving anyway.

I am not 100% sure on this but I have heard these signs are not enforcable by police since they are recognized "rules of the road" signs.
I have parked in them before and never have gotten a ticket.

Probably because ALL the insanely FAT people now have handicap stickers and they're taking all the good spaces away from the people who genuinely need them.
It never seems to fail. Whenever I see a car pull into a handicap space at the grocery or post office, some big hippo gets out and waddles inside. No wheelchair. No walker. Not even a cane. Just a big fat lard butt doing the penguin walk.
Oh, yeah... Love thy neighbor!

Thank God we have a group that it's still all right to single out and hate. And the group just get gets larger as all the skinny people get old, and fat.
Maybe y'all could have a meetin and burn krispy kremes or something.

LOL, parklane. Wouldn't it be nice if we could just accept people for who or what they are? I'll admit I get annoyed when I see an obese person in line at McDonalds and their order is enough to feed two people. Let's not forget the diet drink they order like it would make any difference. However, I stop my thoughts from going any further because I'm not perfect either and I have no idea what the other person's life is like.
I don't care who parks in a handicapped space. As long as they have the handicap sticker it's none of my business. I do have a problem with people who are perfectly healthy parking in a space meant for the handicapped and won't hesitate to say something to those who do. Like the three extra car spaces I might have to walk make a difference. Walking is good for you, anyway.

LOL Parklane!! I have to say I do agree with you about a certain body type and some people were not meant to be skinny at all. They are just rotund and probably have more fat cells - but they probably could work that into muscle mass verses fat if they wanted to. You know though, as fat becomes more the common as it currently is, do you suppose it will still be ostracized as much?
Fast food does play a big part of it, I think.

Personally I would rather walk the extra distance. One time I was with someone who parked in a expecting mothers spot. Michelle didn't care. It was a cold rainy night. As we were getting out of the car a women in a mini van pulls up and starts screaming at us. She wasn't pregnant either. I ignored the women and walked into the store, leaving Michelle to fight with her. The last thing you want to do is pick a fight with Michelle. She is a tiny, cute redhead who looks sweet but is all mouth LOL. One of these days she will get us killed.

Park - I find it ironic that you have no problem repeatedly casting negative comments onto a group based soley on their religion and then get upset because those that are overweight are lumped into one group and condemned based on that single feature.

Sorry, Ron, it's not sexual discrimination....if you get pregnant you can park there, too
But it IS stupid, pregnancy is NOT an illness!
I've known women who run for exercise when pregnant.
It's just as stupid as the idea of having close up parking for young families with children. Haven't heard of that ? Well, it's true.
Relates to the thread on fat people. If you're young enough to have children, you're young enough to WALK to the store and so are your bloated children!

I'd say park there especially if there is no one else around when you get out of the car. How will they know if the person actually parking in the space is pregnant or not?
How many month's pregnant does a person need to be to park in these stupid spaces? I suppose a woman can park there after doing the deed and consider herself pregnant.
Now that we have talked about the Stork Spaces, what about the Employee of the Month parking spaces? Has anyone parked in one of these?

Personally - I don't have a problem with carloads of kids having close in parking... that just means that there is going to be that much less of the parking lot that you have crawl behind mom and her waddling bood as they skip and play and dodge in and out of parked cars. It's just that much less time I have to resist the urge to just run the little cretins over.

Logansdad it is not enforcable anywhere I know of, that probably how they get around the "sexual discrimination" part.
But will be talking to my lawyer Monday to find out.

Crow - don't even play this game with me. I made a joke, tried to engage you in a little playful banter and you decided to be a b*tch so I called you on it.
I'm neither fat nor bitter - just a normal everyday individual that finds you just as sad and pathetic in your new persona as I did in your last.
