Thank you all once again for your comments and prayers.
We had the Memorial Service yesterday at the church my mom and dad attended. Their church always hosts dinners afterwards which was wonderful. Their pastor did a wonderful job with the service, and a couple from the church sang "It is Well With My Soul", which my dad had requested of them 2 years ago. I found the words to a great song called "If You Could See Me Now", which my 16 year old son got up and read for me during the service. A number of their friends had some words to share, mostly about my dad's humor and joking with people. He really had a way with a phrase, and most folks appreciated it.
All in all it was a beautiful service, and we are all doing well. My mom is a rock...and I think the fact that we were with him at the end has really helped us cope.
My two youngest go back to school tomorrow, so we are right back to "normal", whatever that might be. As for myself, I'm doing ok...but I did scream at my 18 year old today. He is also going through some growing pains, his two best friends left yesterday for the Army. I was not giving him the understanding he needed for his loses, but we made up and played nice the rest of the day.
