Tooltimes, (yes, I'm still here) you fail to mention that most of the statements you're making about Bidville, are also true for the larger sites. (Blairwitch, etc... always fails to mention that too!) I'm not new to the online auciton world. I've been around both of the "big blocks" a few times. The problems you bring up are seen at ALL online auction sites. Perhaps more at some, than others, but all, none the less. I understand this. What I don't understand, is why some people want others to believe that these problems are exclusive to Bidville, when, in fact, they are not!

It's amazing to me that Bidville is such a threat to some of you. And it's so obvious, to everyone, that it is! If the site was really as bad as some of you would like others to believe, why does it bother you so much that some people actually like the site, and do very well there? Why the obsession with trying to convince others to stay away from the site? I bet Sigmund Freud would have some interesting thoughts on that subject. lol

And by the way, my "junk" is moving very well right now! Low end to high end! I think the sale will be a success for me!

Of course, that success will be measured by ME, and MY standards.

Good Luck to all those selling in the sale. I am not participating because I am in the middle of a move. I wish everyone the best!

YB, I'm one of the few that constantly mentions that the problems at Bidville are inherent at most of the low traffic sites. Bidville gains the focus by virtue of it's one million plus listings.

What I really like about BV when shopping is the ability to search individual Sellers auctions.... I really miss that feature when shopping other sites.

That's a fantastic feature, RadarLove! It's works wonderfully for the sale. All you have to do is type in the sale code, and it quickly pulls up all of the sale items that seller has listed. My bidders say they love it!

I'm glad there is something that people like about the Bidville search engine. It is the only online auction site search engine that lacks a basic description search.

It would be nice to have the description search ability. But we don't, and don't know if, or when we will; so meanwhile, I choose to make the best of what is there.

So far, it still works for me!

I'm just getting started good, listing for the sale, and the bidding has been wonderful. Lots of multiple bids going on. I'm very happy with the way things are looking for the sale!

Speaking for myself, of course.

I wish you good luck. I know many sellers are very happy at Bidville by scanning the message center there.

What everyone fails to mention is that Bidville has far more characters in its title that does either ebay or Yahoo. I believe it's 75. This allows sellers to add many keywords that there aren't room for on other sites.

How many of you really go to a category and look through all the listings on each page? I've never understood this argument about the quantity of sports card listings and how it affects what you are looking for, but then I always use the handy SEARCH tool to narrow down what I'm looking for. I always assumed that most buyers do the same.

Tooltimes many sellers have asked for a description search, but it has fallen on deaf years. I dont know how much it would cost for them to hire a programmer to add the feature, but I would say price is the hold up.

The need for a description search is most acute of lots. If there are 20 superstar baseball players in a lot then only a few can fit in the title and the others will never be found.

John Barnes, the correct spelling of your hot item is Longaberger not Longaburger.
It is termed a vegetable basket on ebay searches.

The main problem with bidville is when you type in a title or description search, for example type in chip. Like a Las Vegas Casino Chip, you get a message of your search has come up with more than 2000 items. The first 2000 will be shown. Then when you weed through, all you find is crappy sports cards. Yah, I really want to stick around for that crap.

It sounds like you need to improve your searching technique buzzzoon. Most people would type in casino chip if chip failed. But then most would probably type casino chip in to begin with.

Isn't it against the AW TOU to impersonate another poster?

Emak, you are absolutely right.... No one offers a more generous title character limit, and there are several ways to refine your search using the advanced search features.

Buzzoon is new to AW today and has 10 posts already.

Fairly sure bet it is cafeitalia as a new account.

RB the past few days has been really busy with all these newbies.

In my opinion the more the merrier, but making a buzzzoon ID isnt a smart move if the person really wants to stay.

Especially when that person was suspended from AW under a different ID less than 2 weeks ago!

This reminds of that time when some child posted under all possible different variations of "dimview". I reacted rather strongly to that incident, and I had to sit in the penalty box for 30 days.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander ...
