I signed up today with this site bid on quite a few items and now find they have excessive shipping charges.I then reviewed complaints posted about them on the web and found they have a bait and switch tactic if the product does not fetch what they deem a fair price they will back out of selling it to you.I bid on jewelry and now I'm wondering if the jewelry will be as described b/c I've read complaints on this subject as well.Does anyone else have good/bad experience with them. The worst they can do at this point is kick me off their site

There is Bidz.com itself and there are individual sellers that list on Bidz.com . You must be referring to Bidz.com's actual items like jewelry in the 3 minute auctions.

They spell out the shipping terms fairly clearly. If the order totals up to $100 the first item is $8.95 and $3 for each additional item. It's for 2 day FedEx but they say they can take a week to gather your order. I just won 19 low value items and they only total $29 and the shipping is $60+ dollars. To make it worse I live in California and I'm looking at a 8.25% state tax. I just wrote to them about what gets taxed, the items alone or the items and shipping.
If you factor in $4 or $5 per item for shipping before you bid it's not too bad. I've won a batch of jewelry items before from them and everything was as described. I believe the jewelry/watches may be all closeouts or brankruptcy items.

They are similar to Yahoo in that they send out canned messages in response to email questions and the responses have litle to do with the question.

Never bid on anything until you watch the process for an hour or so. Many identical items repeat every 15 minutes and many times you can get the items for only a $1 or very low prices. In the wee hours of the morning the items go for less than prime time.

A buyer has 7 days from the first buy to pay Bidz. They take Paypal. The Bidz help pages are very bad and poorly laid out. They boast in their banner ads that they have the highest bid ratio of any online auction and that is easy to do with $1 start bids on everything with no reserve in a 3 minute auction layout.

Thank you for your reply.I hope that the jewelry is as described some I bought for Xmas and some I bought to resell.I just skimmed through the TOS so that is my fault if I get the jewelry and its everything I expected it would be I'll be happy to pay the added $3 xtra for shipping charges.Yes they were all purchased from the 3 min auctions.I'm terrible at those I bid to win at live auctions my husband has been known to make me leave LOL.
