Here is a sample of the current sale stats. I will do a more detailed list in the future. These stats were from the first 2000 sale items with bids. The site overall was running very slow with many DNS errors, and cannot find server messages.
TOTAL ITEMS- 2000
ITEMS WITH BIDS- 63
TOTAL- 3.15%

If you cross reference the bidders on those 63 items with the list of $1S sellers that BV management put out yesterday you will see that about 90% of the bidders are sale sellers. It is sort of like a church rummage sale have most of the buyers being the same people that donated the stuff to the sale.
The low value of the items only seeks to re-enforce the reputation of BV as a low value items site, a cyber dollar store. That's okay if that's what you buy and/or sell.

Blairwitch, perhaps you should do a little maintenance on your computer. The site has been running fast, and error free for me. And if you read the boards there, you will find that is the case for the majority of members posting.
Tooltimes, did you notice that the sale does not officially begin until September 1st? Buyers were emailed a notice stating the sale dates. (If Wal-Mart mailed you a flyer, stating a sale beginning next week, would you rush down there this week to do your shopping?) Most will wait until the sale starts, to make sure that their favorite sellers have finished listing for the sale. Of course you will see more selling between sellers right now! Most of us list early for exactly that reason. To give our community a chance to do a little early-bird shopping.
I've worked in retail in the past. When a store begins changing price tags to prepare for a big sale, the employees immediately begin shopping. By the time the sale officially begins, the employees have their shopping out of the way.
Speaking of the value of the items in the sale, you must have looked at very few. I've been browsing, and I've seen some very nice items; that would easily go for $20 or more, listed with the $1 starting bid. (I have some of those items listed myself!)
You guys/gals seem to be grasping at straws, in order to prove that people should not bother with Bidville.
As I've said before, most of us out here reading this stuff are adults, with common sense, and the ability to judge a site in an adult manner. You only succeed in making yourselves look bitter, and foolish. You do no harm to Bidville.

Yellowbud, are you serious? You really believe the current bidding is merely a little early bird shopping by a few regular BV sellers?
If the sales stats that BV crows about after every sale are based only on the 9/1 - 9/14 $1S sales don't these early sales and auction wins take away from the sales potential of the legit sales? Perhaps BV should do what ebay used to do in the old days when they had their free listing days, tell the sellers only a few hours ahead of time.
There will be no big spending by many new bidders or even spenders that are not on Bryan's List of Sale Sellers. The sellers are the buyers at BV and that holds true for all the tiny traffic sites that are merely trying to make it from month to month.

Tooltimes, are YOU serious ? You're obviously not listing/selling at Bidville. I would suggest you do a little more research. I base my opinions on my own experience at Bidville. What are yours based on? Oh yes, I forgot...speculation!

tooltimes you are quite correct the bidders are mostly other sellers, and its quite easy to see the proof. I will do a sample of the stats several times during the sale. I will also be listing the weekly listing numbers so we can see if the site remains stagnant.
yellowbud why not drop the alias and post under your right ID?

Tooltimes, your "speculation" is taking you down the wrong alley.
Blairwitch, will you be tracking the exact number of bidders who are sellers bidding on other sellers auctions, during the sale? And so on, and so on... Then, perhaps, there would be some merit to your statements.

I've been posting auctions left and right at BV and haven't had a problem. Maybe you need to clean out your cookies?
The majority of my Buyers are not other Seller's and many have zero feedback. I would like to see a breakdown of those numbers to substantiate the claims being made, too. Until I do, I'll have no choice but to believe this whole stats thing is based on one persons very biased and bitter opinion thereby making the above information inaccurate, and completely useless to me as a Seller. Wow the whole gang is almost back lol. I will not be posting anymore stats till Wednesday, and sale stats on Sunday. If time permits I may be able to sneak in more stats, but with bidvilles site not operating at 100% it takes time. Last time I looked on the main page the 4 featured pictures were the same item so they are having problems.

When I was in school there were always kids that ran to the teachers to turn in any of their fellow students for any infraction. When I am in the workplace there are employees than run to management to turn in their fellow employees for any infraction.
These are the most unpopular and lonely people on the face of the earth.

Well I dont run to the moderator and "tattle" on people because its silly and childish. I am sure Diana has better things to do, and wasnt that the reason a CC is required?

I hear you tooltimes, and I agree.
On the other hand, when a gnat keeps buzzing around my space trying to bite me, I swat it. When a tick falls out of a tree and tries to burrow into my head, I pick it off and throw it into the fire. When I notice a leech has attached itself to my arm, I peel it off and stomp om it.

Hi tooltimes ...
Yes, I did extol the virtures of the ignore feature, but it doesn't always work. The current message in this forum showed up on my screen, and not appreciating the personal insult, I checked many of that poster's recent posts in other threads (and in other forums). Virtually all of them follow one of mine, they are all off topic, and they are all of a personal insulting nature to myself and my Countrymen.
I take shots too on AW, but not at individuals.
I believe the AW Community Guidelines have been violated by this poster, not just in this thread, but in several.

The ignore feature only works if the AW is logged in. In the upper right hand corner of every AW screen is a "Log on/Log off" link that shows the user wether they are logged on or off.
